So true. Stumbling out onto the street at 2am and seeing a hot dog cart is pure joy. I don't see that much in Portland, but in Bend there is a guy who runs a cart on Friday and Saturday nights. Great dogs.
Where at in Bend? I usually go there a couple times a year. I usually go to J C's Bar and drink pitchers and play pool. For dinner I like Pine Tavern. Last time I was at Pine we sat next to Lyle Lovette, I guess he was in town playing at the ampitheater. There's also great new places on the Westside of Bend. Longboard Louie's in Bend is a regular chow down place with great taco's.
I could live in Bend in a second. Lots of wealthy celebs agree.
I've always wanted to go to the Skyline Restaurant (diner-style) but have never been. Heard it was good.
Anyone?
Chicago Style is something you have to get used to I guess. Do you remember the prime rib place?I'm not big on Chicago Style Pizza, but the one time I was in Chicago I ate at a really good Prime Rib place.
I also was on the same plane with Antoine Walker and Tony Atlas, it was when Walker got really fat.
Yeah if you want Lou's go there. Any food shipped tastes worse. You can probably find something good where you live worth the price. Not as good as what you will eat at Lou's.I was going to have a Lou Malnatis pizza shipped to me but I read reviews that said it's just not the same after being shipped. So what's the point.
After-bar ritual? Hm, to young to know about that one.I saw a segment on Travel Channell for a restaurant called The Wiener's Circle somewhere in Chicago? Ever been there? Apparently it's some sort of after-bar ritual.
Sounds like somewhere that gives happy endings in the back room.

Lupe's Escape on Canyon Road in Aloha is a good spot with good food.
Aloha is pretty deep from where I usually spend my time. What kind of food is it?
also, do they give happy endings?
Mexican food. I'm not aware of any "happy endings" being available at this particular location.
I'll be in Aloha on Canyon tomorrow around lunch for a dental appointment. I'll give Lupe's a shot afterward. Thanks for the tip! What's their best dish?
Spicy food after they pick at your gums for a half hour sounds like a blast!

I usually get a burrito, but they have several dishes. The chips and salsa is excellent, imo. I like salsa that is ground up and not chunky although some people like chunky salsa. I usually spike the salsa with Tabasco though. They have a patio area that you can sit outside in too. Let me know if you like it!
Heh. What can I say. I'm into that shit.

I could live in Bend as well. If only there were jobs there, because housing prices are insanely cheap right now. The stand is typically on the Wall Street side on the north end of downtown. Kind of near what is now called the Summit Bar and Grill, but has been called many other things in the past. The guy chars his dogs. Delicious.
It's not entirely true that there are NO jobs here. If you work in any form of the health care industry you've got guaranteed employment for life. And of course there's Les Schwab. And about 10,000 start-ups and entrepreneurs.
You flatter me. I'm really only famous here at S2.
Pine Tavern is no hole in the wall, but you can't go wrong there.
Their Decadent Chocolate dessert rocks my world every time.
I changed the subject at the point I started discussing places in Bend.
Maris, we should hang out next time I'm in Bend. Maybe go to Stars, or something?
As for the Pine Tavern, it's my favorite place there. I always try to get a seat by the tree..
Do they still serve those warm scones and jam? I remember those were pretty good.

I enjoyed Tribute's East Coast Sandwiches and Pizza the one time I went. Their "Philly Cheese Steak" is pretty damn good, though I cannot compare it to Geno's or Pat's in Philly. Never have had them.
