Your trade has JR Smith and Birdman going to Portland....that would certainly bring back the nickname "Trail Gangstas"
John Hollinger (2:22 PM)

Ha ... Smith is an expiring, I have him in there as a vehicle to get them to this year's playoffs. I think PDX would like Birdman actually ... there are plenty of people in Hawthorne with way more

i say hell yes if this has any chance.

fuck yeah. that would be awesome if we don't have to give up anything!

birdman would be a star here. holy shit that would be amusing

Oh god..... two of the players on the Nuggets that I HATE...

Fuck JR Smith.

I'd take Birdman but JR Smith is a fucking moron who would hurt the team as often as he helps.

you mean a pure scorer off the bench who can actually hit a three?

STAY AWAY!!!!awwwwwwwwww....eeeeekkkk

I would have a tough time cheering for either of those guys.

I could easily chear for Birdman. he reminds me a Laimbeer in the sense that he is a guy you can only root for if he is on your team. Everyone else hates him.......A little like Joel

I can accept the Birdman - every-time he does or says something stupid I will remind myself that he started as a descendant of the dinosaurs and have fried whatever little brain he had with drugs - but JR Smith. This dude is just plain dumb. No thanks.

He shot 34% from 3 last season and is at 35% this season. He's a volume shooter and high usage player who needs shots to be productive.

No thanks.

P.S. Just to clarify how Hollinger's proposal would impact Portland:

Out: Rudy, Williams, Camby, Joel, Marks
In: Jordan Hill, Antawn Jamison, JR Smith, Birdman, Aaron Brooks

If I read his trade scenario correctly, it brings much more to the Blazers - Brooks and Jaimison as well.

And we still retain Batum, LMA, Roy and Andre Miller?

Yeh - make my day! Pryz, Camby, Rudy, and E. Williams go and we bring in that group! Duh.

Totally unrealistic, but go for it.

Yes to birdman no to the guy who will knucklehead you out of a game faster than you can groan in disbelief.

Sure, let's do it and just waive Smith after the trade. With Wes, and Roy coming back, we don't need Smith and dont' want him even if we did. Move LaMarcus to starting center, start Jaimison at the 4, Birdman backing them both up and Brooks as instant offense off the bench for now and PGOTF when Miller retires/is traded.

BNM

The Rockets are motivated to either make a big change to the roster, or a small trade for a center, according to multiple sources. But Houston is waiting for the Carmelo Anthony situation to be resolved before moving forward.

"They will be extremely active," one person involved in talks said. "Daryl (Morey, the Rockets' general manager) is talking to a lot of teams. He feels a lot of pressure to make some changes."

Morey has increased his pursuit of a center with the deadline approaching and Yao Ming's expiring contract, along with some of their talented younger players are being used as bait.

The Nuggets have been much more receptive towards Houston's offers for Nene than they have for Anthony. Denver is far more likely to trade Nene if they also deal Anthony before the deadline.

JR Smith is akin to Outlaw. No real basketball IQ, features poor shot selection but can possibly hit any shot he takes. And, like Outlaw until this season, an approximately average player. Decent guy to have off the bench, not a good starter.

I do like Birdman. High level rebounder, great weak side defender. He'd make a great reserve big man and could start alongside Aldridge until Camby gets back.

It all depends on what the team sends out. Both these guys would upgrade the bench, but if the team is trading starters...that won't work as well.

As for Aaron Brooks, he'd be a fine backup. He's been a pretty poor NBA player outside of last season, so I definitely don't see him as any kind of PGOTF. Backup point guard of the present and future would be fine.

JR Smith is a nutcase

Andersen will be 33 in July and he hasn't been able to stay healthy lately

I'll pass

I would take on Andersen to help Melo move, if it was a smaller deal involving Joel. I don't like moving Camby for him, personally. I know that isn't the entire deal. But that is our swap at C.

Why does JR Smith always seem to be jacking up 3s in blow outs? I see that clip, 11 point game with a minute 20 left, and he's hoisting a 3. Did the same in our game we lost by 20 or so. I remember when Patty did something similar last season, we had a few vets go up to him and tell him not to do it. I know Carmelo isn't a leader, but Chauncey can't pull him aside? Anyone?

The funny thing is that there were 20 seconds left on the shot clock.

So, let's say we got "Birdman." (puke) Could the team at least spray paint him and start over with a blank canvass?
