Writer's (arbitrary) tiers:
  • Tier 1 - Parker/Paul/Westbrook
  • Tier 2 - Curry
  • Tier 3 - Irving/Wall
  • Tier 4 - Rose/Rondo
  • Tier 5 - Conley
  • Tier 6 - Holiday/Lawson/Lillard/Williams
  • Tier 7 - Calderon/Miller/Nash
  • Tier 8 - Teague/Vasquez/Bledsoe
  • Tier 9 - Walker/Jennings/Dragic
  • Tier 10 - Hill/Lin/Williams/Felton
  • Tier 11 - Rubio
  • Tier 12 - Lowry/Thomas
  • Tier 13 - Hinrich/Collison/KryptoNate

Writer (Michael Badger, whoever that is) has detailed explanations for his PG rankings in the post.

Discuss.

Well, he's certainly in good company in that tier.

Let's have Curry prove that his ankles aren't made of tissue before we anoint him great. So far he's had the second-best Warriors PG playoffs in recent memory (after the similarly fragile Baron Davis).

Any ranking that has Wall ahead of Rose leaves little to discuss... Obviously, Rose is being discredited because of health, but Wall has missed his share of time and has been nowhere near Rose's level of productivity on the court.

That's not an unreasonable ranking, esp considering a ranking based on only his rookie season.

Exactly. The only guy on the entire list who is a rookie. I'm ok with where he's listed for now.

I love that most of the people in the tier 2 to 4 have all missed significant time, so in reality have maybe played roughly the same amount of "time" as Lillard, and haven't, except for Conley and Rondo, been out of the first round of the playoffs.

Not that Lillard deserves to be up there, I just find that interesting that people with such huge chunks of time off the court are still ranked so high.

Parker (even as great as he is) is a bit too high imo and both Rose and Rondo are too low.

Williams is probably too low as well. He must be taking into account injuries on a lot of these. But then he has Curry in 2nd tier and we know his history of injuries.

I'm pretty cool with that list, overall, other than I think Tiers 5 and 6 really should all be Tier 5.

Oh, and Felton should be a "pier" by himself.

And Rose. Do people forget he missed an entire season? lol.

And Irving. Although, I think Irving is better than Rose. I've seen both in person and Irving is a lot better, IMO.

Top 4 pG's are all in the west. I guess Damian won't be an allstar next year.

^Realistically, did anybody think he had a chance?

Thats actually a really good question.

It's possible he could be. Curry is known to be an injury guy. Paul hasn't been the most reliable as well. We still have to see how Westbrook does after his injury. There is a CHANCE that he could get in on the coaches. The fans are so brainwashed by the media that he'll never make it from the fan vote, even with him starting to show up more on a national scale.

My feeling is, if he has a solid 20/7 first half, then the coaches will get him in.

I don't see him averaging 20/7 with the additions we made this summer..... he won't have to, which is a good thing.

If he doesn't average 34/12 we need to trade him.

So you think there's no possible way he could average 1 point and .5 assists more than last year?

I disagree that the additions will prevent that.

I think he put the numbers up last season out of necessity. He flat out won't have to this year. Of course he COULD, but won't need to.

Lillard is a team player and all.

I think if he had something like 18/8 or 16/9 that could get him mentioned as well.

The way I see it, his points will go down but his assists will go up. But, I definetly won't say he can't get 20/8... because if Lillard can, and he knows it, he will, if it helps the team win.

Aldridge has already said late last season that Lillard will be an All Star this season. You guys are already forgetting how great Lillard is.

Where's Jarrett Jack? Luke Ridnour? And Hinrich is about 4 tiers too low.

They need a 14th tier for Hinrich. Collison is actually a pretty good PG, and Nate Robinson isn't a PG at all.

Your guy Sergio didn't even make the bottom tier.

Are you fucking kidding me? This guy obviously has no idea what the fuck he is talking about putting Lillard as anything but the best PG in the history of the NBA. Obviously this is a rag and he has no credibility
