You guessed it. Roy is NOT on the list. Not like Hoops World had any credibility before, but this makes them look even more stupid.

They have Manu, Ray Allen (?!??!?!? wtf), Vince Carter, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Martin, Ben Gordon and Richard Hamilton ALL listed as the best SGs in the league next year.

It's cool because in the comments, basically everyone mentions Roy.

Well, you know, I'm sure there is a explanation behind this. Like, someone must have litterally forgot about him.

I was looking for an email link so I could chew his ass out and ask him why hoopsworld writers were so incompetent.

Joel Brigham is getting reamed by the comments!!

He's going to have to have some kind of follow up to explain why BRoy is left off (if he wants to save what little credibility he has left).

email sent. What a douche.

I'm sure he's getting enough crap for that by now. He obviously has either

A) Completely forgotten about him
B) Never seen him play
C) Been totally incompetent and doesn't follow the sport enough

It's nice to see people making a lot of comments on the omission. I'm sure he'll get the point. Roy's a sure fire #3 on that list, no doubt.

But that's the problem. How can you write for a basketball website, and just "forget" about someone like Roy? Forgetting to include Kevin Martin? That's acceptable, because he's been injured a lot in his career, and plays for a losing team, and always has. But you forgot about the obvious #3 on the list? Unacceptable. Complete joke.

Not to mention that he identified Kobe as the reigning MVP. One would think that an NBA writer--working for a website that does nothing BUT cover the NBA--would know who won the league's top individual award.

Wow. What a Maroon. What an Im-besal. I laughed that he had Joe Johnson number 3 instead of Roy, but to list all those other guys and Roy doesn't even make honorable mention. What a dolt. If it were just temporary amnesia it would only be funny, but the fact he wrote the article without (apparently) doing any research whatsoever, he deserves that flak he's going to get.

They must have got your email:

(Author's Note: Brandon Roy was originally left off this list because I was, for some reason, viewing him as a point guard. Were I doing this over, he'd absolutely be ranked #3, followed by Johnson and Ginobili, which would push Ray Allen to the top of the Honorable Mention category).

He mentions Kobe as the reigning MVP, and in the paragraph about Wade he talks about "By adding 5 points and 7.5 boards a game to his totals last year Wade made a strong case for best all-around player". Pretty sure that should have been 5 boards, 7.5 assists, but what do I know?

Clearly the guy isn't a writer, and it's akin to a YardBarker post. No credibility. Certainly hope he wasn't paid for something like this.

This is too fun.

Are you --ing brain damaged? No Brandon Roy? Not even in the mentionable list? Wow, I don't even take you seriously anymore

:biglaugh:

Ben Fucking Gordon?!!!!!

What a joke. I haven't ever read hoopsworld and now I never have to.

Thanks retarded basketball writer!

He also left off Kevin Durant. Maybe he thought he was a SF? He should be, but he's a SG

Durant played SF the majority of the season last year.

They must have got your email:

LOL!!! I swear I didn't see that authors note when I posted this! I wonder if he just added it!!!!!!!1

He fixed where it says Kobe is the reigning MVP LOL!

It was clearly added later. Brandon does act somewhat like a PG, but 95% of the rest of the basketball world knows that Brandon is a SG with many skills--including passing. If a person thinks Brandon is a PG, then they clearly have no idea who Steve Blake is.

If by fixed it you mean still with the grammar of a first grader:

Not only is the 2008 league MVP and coming off a championship ring, but he's also the most dominant player in the game.

you must have missed last season. when the thunder made their coaching change, durant was moved to small forward where he belongs.

Yep, after starting 1 - 12, the Thunder wisely fired P.J. Carlesimo and replaced him with Scott Brooks. Brooks moved Durant to his natural position of small forward and his production took off. Durant remained at SF for the remainder of the season (69 games).

BNM

Actually, he really only played out of position at shooting guard during his rookie season, under Carlisimo. After Carlisimo was fired early last season, Durant played the rest of the season at small forward and surely will continue to for the foreseeable future.

Surprised you missed that! :devilwink:

Also, the clock stops when you're fouled.

The smart thing would've been to add in the following:

"At 2 1/2, I have Brandon Roy, the guy who looks like nothing special as he just sort of wanders to the rim and dunks and somehow nobody stops him. In fact, he's so deceptive that I completely overlooked him in my original story. That's why I'm now penciling him in at 2 1/2. Thanks to all the regular readers who caught my....blah blah blah."

You could actually pull that off and not look like a complete ass. To say you thought of him as a PG is moronic.

Brandon Roy is a point guard!!!! Greg Oden is a power forward!!!! Travis Outlaw is a power forward!!!! Steve Blake is a shooting guard!!!!! :devilwink:

somehow you just babelfished "English to Nate MacMillan's Wet Dreams". Well done!

and also a SF at times!
