We are not replacing Joel Brigham. It is not going to happen because he left a name off a list. Joel has to live with that omission, and while Joel has had two pretty significant miscues... I have had far more than that myself. If you do not like Joel Brigham, don't read him. If his pageviews fall off then that's on him and he'll be out of a job. Despite his miscue on Brandon Roy, he is a very solid reporter, a very good writer and he's growing into his role as one of our lead writers. Growth comes with pain, and Joel has experienced some of that.

I am committed to Joel on this team, and if that's too hard for you to accept, then you'll be unhappy.

Diversity of voice is important; having three guys talk about the same things the same way is not what we're shooting for. Would I like for the miscues to go away --- absolutely, but as they say "the fleas come with the dog"... we are not perfect, and we're not going to be perfect. We're better than we were a year ago, and we'll be better than we are today next year.

Joel, Bill, Travis, Jason, Eric, Wendell, Tommy, Yannis, Luke, Susan and I have to live with our miscues and mistakes -- that life in the spotlight. We have to be committed to doing it better each day, to working hard to be informed and make sure that the materials we put out each day are as factually accurate as they can possibly be. There will be days we hit the ball out of the park and none of you will comment. There will be days when we miss the mark and you guys pile on... that's acceptable and expected - but no one is getting fired for missing a name on a Top 5 list... so save your outrage... It's on Joel to clean this up by working harder to be better at his craft.... as always if you would like address something specifically with me you can hit me at skyler@hoopsworld.com

Jeez. Blazer fans are fucking harsh. Reminds me of how some fans went after Swirsky.

^^^ That is awesome. Cool to see "Skyler" (LMFAO at that name) have his employees back though.

This just gets better and better. :biglaugh: It's just too f'ing funny.

Really, I don't see why anyone would be uber-outraged or spit venom all over these guys over it, to me it's just funny. But if no one had, I wouldn't be laughing right now.

Hilarious. It sure doesn't take much to piss off our fanbase. If anything negative is written or anything omitted, especially of this current group of Blazers, Blazer fans will pile on. Love it. That's funny.

I almost wonder what would happen if a local politician said something bad about the team.

Mayor Sam Adams: "I don't really like the Blazers... Roy is overrated.... I'm a laker fan!"

That recall would be passed within weeks! :biglaugh:

oh man, you would not hear the end if a politician made that blunder. :ohno:

Political suicide. He'd never get another public service job in Oregon ever again.

So a 40 something city councilperson can take advantage of his job and seduce a 17 year old and still become mayor or the city. But if he says anything bad about the Blazers, it is political suicide.

I think our city has it's priorities in order . . .

First time I've ever repped anyone.

Obviously, I was joking as I'm sure everyone else was.

Or this?

I remember a time when I cared about what someone across the country thought about the Trail Blazers. Then I discovered girls.

Hell hath no fury like a Blazer fan snubbed ...

In some ways I think this is true, not just for Portland but a lot of cities. The Portland political scene/views has always been a little strange to me. This was one of the reasons I moved from Oregon to Arizona. And from someone living outside of Oregon, that fact that Sam Adams still has his job is surprising.
