How About A "Toxic Offer" For This Guy?

The only proper duel is with blunderbusses. You win the duel either by shooting the other person first or having the other person blow his/her own head off (assuming you don't do the same to yourself).

Very well. See you in the morn. Have your second call my second.

Gay isn't getting along with Mayo, but I'm sure it will be smooth with Roy...

Uh, no. That could apply if we had Carmelo, not Rudy Gay.

I like Rudy but his arguing with Mayo lately raises red flags.

I would rather have Gay then Carmello on our team. I like Rudy a lot!

Even under the assumption that Roy = New Age Jordan, I'm thinking Gay's a bit behind Pippen in the "All Time Greatest Defenders Team" category, the "Point Forward Capability" category and the "Best Player on the Court, Except When He's Playing With Jordan" category.

Unless, Roy = Pippen and Gay = Jordan?

Okay maybe I am pushing it a little lol

Gay isn't on 'Melo's level now or in the future.

'Melo is the best pure scorer in the League. Top-5 player in the game.

Career averages of 24.4 PPG, 6 RPG, 3 APG.

The first three games of this seasons he's putting up nearly 40 ppg.

I'm a fan of Rudy Gay, but c'mon! He's not on Carmelo's level.

Still not sure who is saying otherwise.

Great so we can go after the guy that everybody on the team was screaming at for not playing defense in Memphis? You really do your homework don't you?

Gay would not help us. At all. We need a backup power forward.

Actually, our most glaring need is better defense at the Guard positions.

He definitely should have. I think that he is going to be one of a large number of guys who are going to regret turning down big contracts when the new CBA kicks in.

Ed O.

How soon before we label it "The Latrell Sprewell Rule"?

Please Kirk Hinrich!!!

I'm not too sure Hinrich would be a good fit for us, as long as Nate is running the floor. Hinrich seems like he takes a ton of chances and is more of a slashing guard. As much as a fan I am of Hinrich, I just don't see him as a "Nate type" of guy.

Defense and Shooting from the Guard spot.. I think even Nate can learn to live with it.

Could be possible. I am a huge fan of Hinrich. I just worry that the turn overs and risky moves would make Nate toss him on the bench.

not if Blake keeps pissing him off and not making an entry pass ;) in all seriousness, was good to hear that story.

Capt. Kirk has a lower career TOV% than Steve Blake (14.6 vs 16.6) and a higher career AST% (29.8 vs. 25.9). He is Steve Blake on steroids, with defense. Their career TS% is virtually identical (.522 vs .523) - and he has a slightly better career PER (14.8 vs 12.1)

I am shocked we did not go after him - because he seems like the perfect Nate McMillan PG - and would have been the easiest to slide into our starting unit. But, maybe Chicago was asking a lot, maybe they know that he is a very nice role-player who can backup and play next to Rose, so...

There would be no problem at all if we ever got our hands on Hinrich. I have always been a fan of his. And since Rose is now the future of the Chicago franchise, I would think Chicago would let Hinrich go for role players. But I'm no GM and I don't even know if KP even offered anything to Chicago.

I used to think of Melo as just a high volume scorer on a high scoring team.

However, he's really impressed me with the improvements in his over all game so far this season. I know it's only been three games, but his shooting percentages are way up across the board, his rebounding (7.0 rpg) and assists (4.2 APG) are both up, end even more importantly, he seems motivated to play defense. He's definitely becoming a much more complete player.

And please, the Rudy Gay/Pippen and Rudy Gay/Melo comparison's are laughable. Melo and Rudy just went head-to-head a couple days ago. Here's their stats:

C. Anthony: 42 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast, 2 stl, 1 OTV
R. Gay: 18 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 2 TOV

Hinrich a slasher? He took nearly as many jump shots at Steve Blake last year ... Now can he actually get into the paint better than Blake? Sure, but calling him a slasher is kind of like calling Tim Thomas a banger.

Gay would be awesome. I met him at an olive garden in manchester ct when he played for uconn.

He would also kinda heal the durant sting... oden/gay > durant

Webster > Gay

Webster > Gay

I agree with this post 100%. Webster has shown such resilience on the defensive end, plus he is attacking the lane with confidence. Also, I have no doubt Webster is fine with his role on this team. I could possibly see Gay being a little butt hurt about getting less shots and receiving less offensive attention than Roy, Aldridge and Oden.

Rudy Gay is the type of player I would never want on my team. Mayo gets on the team for not getting back on defense and Gay tries to get in a fight with him on the sideline. I know players are competitors and can get heated with teammates at times, but for someone saying to get back of defense? Puh-lease. He is the prototypical me-first player.
