I'd like @dviss1 to weigh in here as well.

  • The foul on Lillard that was the exact same type of foul that Crabbe had on Beal - no call
  • The 'travel' that caused Morris to step out of bounds - no call
  • The actual stepping out of bounds my Morris - no call
Like @dviss1 , I ref as well and you are going to miss some. But there were 2 refs looking right at the last 2 instances and you would hope one of them would catch one of those infractions. Between those two refs on those last two infractions, they were 0-4. There is a difference between missing some and 2 refs right on a play blowing the entire sequence of multiple violations.

Did anyone else notice the moving screens by Gortat all damn game? I've seen refs call that if you just stick your hip out a little bit, but was blantantly moving all over the place, he looked like he was doing yoga.

If I'm Olshey I send a dvd of ref mistakes from that game and let it stew..

I am really interested to see how the team reacts in the PHX game today - are they all fired up and we win easy? or are they dejected and listless on the 2nd of a back to back?

Remember the tailspin that Scott Foster non-call of a goaltend caused against OKC a couple years back? Funny thing is, the NBA changed the ruling on how you could review that. Wonder if the same happens here?

My issue with too much reviewing is that the last mine of an NBA already can be ridiculously long because of timeouts. My preference would be to perhaps expand reviews IF timeouts were limited to perhaps one full and one 20 second in the last 2 minutes.

Honestly the lottery would do us much better this year. It might be worth it with these non calls

Would this thread even appear had the Blazers won? There is always going to be bad calls in every game. THE BLAZERS WHERE UP 20 AT HALFTIME. Can't blame the refs.

Well numerous times in here that the NBA official are really not very good. They are trying change some thing next year is it good I guess we will see. The last play should have caught period by the officials there no excuse for it and the worst excuse we didn't see it. So if you didn't maybe you shouldn't be official especially at that level.

What is so fucking stupid about this is that if it was a buzzer beater, it's reviewable. But because there was time on the clock, it's not????

How the fuck does this make any sense? Is the NBA run by 3rd graders????

Yes, yes it is.

T you beat me to it. I was going to start a thread called the need for an officiating overhaul.

Officials will always bee needed and there will always be gray areas with regards to fouls, but lets give them some help.
They have alot to focus on.
If ALL they had to do was focus on the ball and the play and not have to worry about 3 second violations, 5 second violations and out of bounds plays, then they would have a better percentage of correct calls on other things, because they would have more of a focus on those aspects of the game.

I propose the NBA follows Tennis. Lets get laser cams on all of the court lines. Let the computers decide if the player stepped out of bounds or if it was a three or not. Let the computer keep track of the time and start a 3 second and 5 second countdown for every play that requires it. We have camera set up all over the place and Tennis has used laser sites on their lines since the 90's.
Why are we relying on someones vision for these types of plays? I could see it being harder in football because of the size of the field and amount of players to track, but in basketball, the court is nominally larger than the Tennis court and there are only 11 objects to track on the court at once.
This could easily be done and allow the refs to focus more on what matters.

We were absolutely robbed of a game last night.

Did the refs come down and jack up 5 straight poor shots late in the game?

In reality, Crabbe tripped over his own jock on the last shot of regulation. We were EXTREMELY lucky after blowing a 21 point lead to even get in to OT.

SlyPokerDog needs his own negative thread where he can run around happy and free and stop trying to troll his negativity on everyone else everywhere else....

Can we please create a sticky thread called "SlyPokerDog's infinite bitching about everything and nothing" thread?

I bet its a success....

Both teams were playing great D at the end of the game and both teams missed several shots...
I wanna change your name to NMD for Narrow Minded Dog. You okay with that?

The other team did their fair share of low quality shots, as well. Judgment calls suck, but getting calls factually incorrect is always frustrating for the team on the bad side of them.

I'm not being negative. I'm saying we lost a 21 point lead, and that had more to do with losing than a bad call

Sure. Call me whatever you want. I know it was great D by us when John Wall blew by us several times to score easy lay ups

Yes you are. Leads are gained and lost in every NBA. YOu are smart enough to know its a game of runs. Come on now....
