Of course now he's going to come out and say nothing ever happened.
this is simply not true...he's already addressed it last season and had to sit out the playoffs in Omaha because of it...he's not covering up anything..he has not been a repeat offender either...he's done pretty much everything required of him around this...serial pedophiles are repeat offenders...his hasn't been that case and he's shown remorse without asking for sympathy. He's also really young. I give him the benefit of the doubt and in my view...he has learned a serious lesson early in life. This doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to pursue a career and have a successful life.

Heck I'm not even convinced he did it. He has denied it since the beginning and stated he only agreed to plead guilty to save the family of pain. He makes a very plausible argument. Also, the only reason this got publicized was because of a clerical error in the state of Oregon.

I have a hard time believing him. Pedophilia and child abuse is an unforgivable sin for me. Of course now he's going to come out and say nothing ever happened.

In fact he's said nothing ever happened from the very beginning - and has passed polygraph tests to that effect.

I know a kid that I have known pretty much since he was 7 years old and coached him in baseball that got caught up in an ugly situation. He had a girlfriend that was about a year and half younger than him, but when he turned 18 she was still 16 (about a month away from turning 17). Her parents were complete assholes and they pressed charges against the kid and he was declared a sex offender even though it was consensual but by law he was an adult and she was a minor. Knowing the kid as well as I did he is one of the quietest and nicest kids you could meet but these parents set out to ruin his life. It definitely woke my son up and several of his friends as to how easy it is to get caught up in something that seems rather innocent.

Not everything is as black and white as it may appear. I relayed a story in my post to riverman showing how young kids can get caught up in bad situations.

That's terrible. I was in the same situation, but it's fairly common. When I was a senior, I dated a younger girl and we continued to date when I turned 18. Luckily her parents loved me, even after we broke up.
