I did not anticipate Philly winning that series.

Interestingly enough most braves fans I heard talk were scared of Philly. Probably cause they lost to them last year but still. People were pretty high on the Phillies and I was pretty confident they could win. And aside from a Bryce Harper base running mistake, pretty much controlled the series. (And Bryce made up for it the next game anyway lol)

Yeah, certainly didn't expect their pitching to completely shut the Braves' allegedly record-setting offense down like they did.

Yeah I did figure it was going to be a slugfest if Philly was gonna win but I never saw this type of pitching.

Gents, please recommend me a good Mariners forum to join. Thank you in advance!

Fuck the mariners. Fuck the front office. Fuck them.
Mariners saved some money !! Those 100 RBI guys are overrated. Oh.. and the Diamondbacks stink. Playoffs are boring, development and training is more fun.

(if only Mariners fans can see the light that's endowed upon Blazer fans. It would all make sense.)

And they raised ticket prices too. Big thumbs up (our arses) to Jerry. They ain’t getting a superstar in the off-season just more dumpster diving. Imagine the cost to take a family of 4 or 5 to a game to support a team hell bent on winning like half of their games. Hate to say it but have to start boycotting these types of sports teams. Hit ‘em wear hit hurts.

Its like we're the oakland A's right now. Its just we actually have ONE marketable star.

Who will want out in 3 years.

The fuck is wrong with this stupid fucking organization?

Mariners traded Kelenic, Gonzalez and Evan White for 2 scrubby pitching prospects.

Is Dipoto trying to tank?

Looks more like a salary dump and taking a chance on two pitchers. Could be to make room for a major free agent but would not count on that till seeing it.

Braves fan here. What am I getting in these guys?

Kelenic had a good month.

Marco is a great guy but a very average pitcher.

Evan White had one good abbreviated season but hasn't been back up since 2020. He could be something.

Kelenic is only 24. Was the 8th pick a few years ago. His struggles are mostly mental with the game. But when he's dialed in he can win you games by himself. Like he did for us. For a month.

All this to say, you probably got 3 all stars cause it's the braves and we're the fucking mariners.

Our team fucking sucks at everything.

Appreciate the reply.
Figured the main piece was Kelenic as a flyer, sounds like the other two come with some $$ which was probably the cost of being able to get Kelenic. I don't expect a HR from it, but I do like a young, former top prospect as an intriguing add for spring training to battle with Vaughn Grissom(if he's still around). Hopefully Kevin Seitzer can get him right. If nothing else, I'm certain he'll hit at least one game winning HR against the Mets!

Kelenic has got the tools, he just needs to see results for longer periods of time. He's his own worst enemy at times. Itll be interesting cause it was a really supportive clubhouse that brought him up in Seattle. Dunno how the braves dugout is but I imagine it's pretty positive.

White has a high ceiling just can't stay healthy. Has a huge contract based on the COVID year. Also, again hasn't been in the majors since winning the gold glove on 2020 (don't even know how or why he won that I don't remember him much that year). Then again Kyle Lewis won ROY that year and he hasn't been heard from since.

Kelenic is a gym rat. He's incredibly strong, but he strikes out a lot. Highly competitive player. He could be a 30-35 tater guy if he can find the zone. He got so frustrated whiffing at the plate, he stomped into the dugout and kicked a wall or something, broke his foot. Missed a couple months of the season. The high octane talent is definately there, I'm surprised the Mariners gave up on Jared already.

Marco Gonzalez had to go. His softy lefty pitches don't fit the Mariners flamethrower strategy. An injury riddled season and unusually high salary placed him atop the Mariners cut list.

Kyle Lewis had the goods. In typical NW fashion, an early season "mild knee tweak" turned into a 2 year toradol injecting play through the pain process. We saw him a few times last year, he wasn't even 50% recovered on his knee injury.

Do they have a big trade/acquisition lined up? or is this action a pure salary dump?

Atlanta is the perfect place for Kelenic

He’s gonna keep getting better at the plate and he’s decent in the field. He’s his own worst enemy and his historically bad start to his career didn’t help in the slightest.

a change of scenery to an organization like Atlanta is perfect for him

I want him to succeed so bad, and even if that's not on my team and we traded him, I just want him to do well. You can tell he cares more than most and I want to see it translate.

It most likely will in Atlanta. And good for him. Cause our organization couldn't give two shits about the players or the fans. It's becoming really hard to support the team given all the good will from the playoff year.

When the dude who ended the drought is openly questioning wtf is going on (AND THAT WAS BEFORE THIS) you know you done fucked up. Now they are doubling down on the fucking up.

Yankees just swindled the best slugger from the Padres. Isn't that freakin' special.
Juan Soto .275 ba, 35 hr, 109 rbi

Mariners could have easily matched aand/or surpassed that deal. Padres got fleeced.

Down goes Candelario as well. This is hell. I think if we don't do the Peredes/Aro deal and sign Snell, the fans will boycott. It's getting bad.

Maybe the Mariners should go after this guy?

They should, but they won't. The Mariners are the worst run organization in sports.

Rumor floating around that Ohtani wants an ownership stake along with a contract (literally only heard in one place so probably not true)

One of the comments: "Come to Seattle. You can have 46% of the team, since they only care about 54% of it anyway" lol I hate where we're at as an organization. Fuck my life.
