Logan throws a 72 mph breaking ball that seemingly falls through a trap door as it crosses the plate. The next is 97 mph fastball. Just insane.

Rays and Dodgers are a real test for this team.

Still a ways out to predict anything, but IF we don't win the division, it's pretty likely the Ray's will be our playoff matchup.. It would be funny if we swept them and they started slipping like the Rangers though. Very unlikely but it would make the playoff race even more nutty.

Gilbert is like a mutant Orel Hershiser. When Logan is locating with a variety of A+ pitches, it's Cy Young award winner stuff.

Whelp.

Blue Jays losing 2-1

Astros down 5-1 to the Padres

Rangers tied 2-2 with the As.

You know, cause our team fucked up our game and all.

The bull pen is just terrible. Servais leaves George in too long because he knows nobody in relief can do shit. That will be this year’s legacy. Too many bargain bin relief pitchers JD was trying to make into legit MLB pitchers. They are DFA level.

"well... if the pitchers don't throw a shutout, the Mariners can't win."

I hate you Bill Krueger

To be fair, Two of our pitchers pitched 3 days in a row, and Campbell had a really damn good outing the other night. You just dont expect Kirby to have 2 bad innings in a start, and it was the bottom of the order. I understood it, and trusted Campbell. It sucks.

Kirby had a rough 1st, 37 pitches, walk, plunk, walk, the freaky Tropicana invisible bloop hit. I know he got through the 2nd in quick fashion, I stepped away after 3rd inning. It's hard to believe Servais left his kinda struggling flamethrower starter in for 100+ pitches. WOW

Now we can move on.

And with Houston and Texas both losing that loss hurts less. Still hurt like a mofo though.

Time to pull Weaver!

edit:
Servais blows it again. I seriously put this on him 100%. Weaver had like 80 pitches. It's not like he is an All-Star or something. Get a clue Servais!

edit again:

Happy Servias? Another loss thanks to mismanagement. He really is a shitty skipper.

some quick PR repair earlier today, after Kirby was allowed to go over 100 pitches
via ESPN;
- On Saturday, Kirby said he "screwed up" with Friday's postgame comments.

"Obviously I screwed up. That's not me," Kirby said Saturday. "Skip's always got to pry that ball out of my hands. Just super uncharacteristic of me as a player and who I am out on that mound. I love competing. Like I said, I just screwed up."

Manager Scott Servais said he talked to Kirby "for a long time" Friday night and Saturday morning.

"He said 'Skip, that's not who I am,'" Servais said Saturday. "We all know George is a very fiery -- he's a competitor. He's learning. It's an opportunity to learn moving forward. The biggest thing with George is, we move forward. Love having him out there."
