Hitting not happening tonight for the Ms

I had like this weird feeling that Cal would hit a bomb there.

And he show did

Last chance for today. Astros look to be rallying a bit, wish we would

Ty France is the fucking Meyers Leonard of the mariners. Fucking useless. The fuck you gonna swing at that pitch with the game on the line. Fuck off.

Bases loaded twice and our dumbass hitters swing at pitchers pitch on the first pitch. Seriously fuck off this team aint serious with horrible approaches like that.

Rule changes. They changed pick off rules to only being able to try a pickoff twice and they put a clock on the pitcher. Then they made the bases bigger. It leads to Runners being able to time the steal and they have more room to hit the bag.
That is a big (*) in the record books.

You got to wonder how many bases would Ricky Henderson have gotten if he knew they could only throw twice to first base and had a clock on the pitcher. Then made the bag bigger.

Yes and no on the pickoffs.

It's actually made runners more aggressive PRE pick off. MLB pitchers have deceptive moves (especially lefties) to the plate to hold the runners so film still needs to be watched on the pitchers. Granted, not as readily available when Rickey was around. That said, the larger bases really has only affected 1st base and the safety around that. Were seeing closer plays at 2nd and 3rd base steals, but it comes down to still having to take risks and they are.

Asterisks are only reserved for Bonds and the A*tros.

Also IIRC Rickey stole first or second pitch most times

Whether or not there should be an asterisk is worthy of discussion I suppose. They have made an impact and in my opinion, for the better. I think there is a thread about it somewhere.

MLB Rule Changes Are Key Reason For Increase In TV Streaming And Attendance, League Says

As someone who uses baseball as a coping mechanism I selfishly don't like shorter games, but I can't deny the impact it's having. I love more action on the basepaths. Hit and runs, the strategy. That's what I loved before and now we're getting s great combo of power and speed.

gosh darn Mariners reporters digging at Miller's pitch strategy with certain players. As if the Rangers aren't listening to what the M's want to throw.

two-faced Texas spies ...
kick them outta the press room !!

Well pretty much every “Professional Analyst” disagrees with you so I don’t know how to respond?
I guess you are welcome to your opinion. Runners are playing the pick off. They know after two attempts they won’t be seeing a third. Then they also know the pitch must be thrown before that clock runs out. That gives them as much as a half to full second jump. Yeah that makes them more aggressive for sure. There have also been numerous conversations with base runners saying sliding to second is easier with the bigger base.

To really dive into it if need to see a breakdown of when the runner runs. That'll tell us unequivocally. I'll have to search.

I think if they can't pull off a win tonight that is it for the season.
