how can the knicks fix this mess?

If I owned the Knicks here's what I would do:

* Fire Isiah Thomas
* Go on a 6-year plan until all those contracts run out
- I NEVER would have traded Antonio Davis for Jalen Rose. Rose has a $15M contract comming off the books in 2 years, while AD's $13M contract comes off the books this summer. Terrible move.
* Trade both Marbury and Francis. Trade one for a couple decent players and trade the other for basically cap space.
* I would NOT try and go after the big names this summer (KG/Iverson/O'Neal). That puts the contract situation in more trouble, plus it would make that star even more unhappy then they are now.

So basically I would rid of "Franchise" and "Starbury" (ego-maniacs that don't give a damn, as long as they get their stats), go on a 6-year plan until the contracts run out, then rebuild from the ground up around Channing Frye and Eddy Curry.
