How can you not be thrilled right now?

Man, Whiteside saying his 2nd choice was POR was depressing.
We could be thrilled about Blazers being a 2nd tier team right now instead of taking comfort in beating other struggling teams.
He said that? Ugh.

I don't usually take advice from my gardener but my tomatoes were plentiful last summer. Okay, I'll walk it back some. 7-2
Flip it. This is basically a 9-game road trip almost exclusively against superior teams. We'll beat Denver and Sacramento at the end. We should be the underdog in the other 7 games. We might actually be favored at home against the Thunder, but it'll be the 6th game in 9 days, 2nd half of a road-home back-to-back, so we shouldn't be.

HCP is being a bit of a homer calling for 3-6.

Still not quite sure why MAGS went all Full-Trump? I don't do politics, but if the president elect ever saw MAGS in person, he'd probably think he was a terrorist or caddie!
I actually shook his hand. He told me that he will make an exception and not deport me for helping his cause. I told him about you and said you are first to go.

We suck so much that I am actually happy to have a 2 game winning streak. I've never been happy about that before.

they hold their opponents to worst FG% in league
Point well made. Utah also holds their opponents to 101.5 points per 100 possessions, which is good for equal sixth in the league in this category. I'll have to reconsider my initial thoughts on Utah's defensive abilities. All indications are that they are very good defensively this season.

Disappointingly we rank a league worst 109.6 points per 100 opposition possessions.

That's basically because we faced the on fire Clippers and Rockets twice and Warriors once.

So 5 out of 23 games? Yup, that's the reason. Everyone has to play the Warriors too....

We seem to be playing better. Having Aminu back should help because we need a small ball 4 (Meyers, Aminu or Harkless) for when we're playing just one of Dame or CJ with Turner and Crabbe in the swing positions. If we have one of the above at the 4 it offsets the lack of speed, creativity, spacing from the back court.
We're not there yet but we're getting better, players are getting more comfortable. Don't need to win all the games, need to see a pattern of improvement. It's still early in the season

Are we not thrilled?

I am attempting to remain positive, but to be honest, this is the least interested in the team that I have been in years. In past years I would daily peruse available sports pages. At this point I have no idea how bad an injury Festus Ezeli has, or even if he will play this year. I have only watched two or three complete games. It seems to be that they play well or they show how abundantly lacking they are as a team.

CJ and Dame are studs. Almost a waste of talent on this team. Chief looks solid and the past ten games Mo has looked great. But am I being fair in thinking that we have six or perhaps stretch it to 7 players that would make a top tier team?

My interest will peak when trade rumors abound mid season. Hopefully management can find their magic wand.

Worst of all, I cant stand listening to the Blazer announcers. They suck all of the joy out of the game for me. I never thought I would look forward to nationally broadcast games, but I do.

Thrilled? Hell no, its hard to elicit mild interest.

Jinx didn't like my 3-6 prediction for this 9 game stretch......
I thought we'd most likely go 2-7, but the optimist in me homered it up to 3-6 for the poll. I then rationalized a possible scenario where we could go 5-4, but I never really believed it. Such is the state of my fandom this season. Just trying to hold on to hope.

I'm not thrilled, even when they were winning a few. Their improved defense was short lived, they can't close out a game, and they seem to play like they think the other team will stop playing once they get a small lead.

In addition to sucky defense...
Even though we've been playing better of late, we've now had two 4th quarter meltdowns in a row:
