I needed a new gamer tag for Counter-Strike 13 years ago. Was reading a book series I really liked and the main characters last name was Rahl. I always read it as Rhal so didnt even notice the fuck up for years, once I figured it out I liked the way I fucked it up more then the original so I stuck with it and use Rhal or some variation of it for everything.

Mash up of two gamertags I've used.

I found it on a random forum handle generator.

You should have just asked me to come up for something for you. It most likely would have Dog in it but people love dogs.

You're a crash test dummy?

Cool!

Once, there was this guy who,
called himself "tester" on the Trail Blazers forum
But when asked why he's called that,
he claimed that he was a crash test dummy.
He couldn't quite explain it, it'd always just been that.
Mmm mmm mmm mmm, mmm mmm mmm mmm...

This will always be Rhal for me I think of the movie Platoon whenever I read your moniker

speedythief originally from basketballboards, then basketballforums, speedy thief being a colloquialism for velociraptor (lat., swift robber), am a Raptors fan.

Shortened it to speeds which I like because it was what I was being referred to as by other posters and it can be read upside down and is close to being a palindrome.

Well, I use to go by the name Twilight on some forums and gaming... then Twilight came out.

How I got THIS name was I was a roadie for a band in Portland named... Strenuus.

Ive seen Strenuus at Conans before it became the Hawthorne Theatre. I meant to ask you if it was related on to them on Sunday but got sidetracked. Cool. We need a roadie...*Hint*

Fuck you rookie and your wack threads!

ummm... okay.. I read that as I fuck rookies with my thread of wack....
But hey, much love to you and yours....

Oh lord... it was 7-8 years ago. Hell, I don't even remembering playing Conans... the only concert I saw there was with OneSideZero.. and I can't remember who opened for them (If it was us, or Syx... I swear I'm only 32! haha)

As far as roadie(ing), school and work have sucked my life. haha.

Holy crap. Syx? Now that brings back memories. Some good kids back in the day, but boy there were some Swil/Syx clashes amongst our fans.

No kidding, right? I partied with them a ton. Good times. I knew who Swil was back in the day, too... so it's weird to see the name pop up. But yeah, I roadied for Strenuus and was tight knit with the Syx guys too during that time. When Syx/Strenuus did shows together, nights were just a blur. hahaha.

Wanna hear another blast from the past? One night, IIRC (which is always debatable) We had a Strenuus/Syx/36 Crazyfists show.

It may have just been Syx/36... but still, wild freaking night.

Wild man. Well I reunited Swil and we are working on our first real album now. Hoping to have it done by the holidays.
36Crazyfists are playing the Ash in a couple weeks. I remember when they moved down from AK. And you know I might have been at that show. Anytime 36 came in to town, Syx was a fav to share the stage with them. But yea, a decade plus and my memory fades on some details too. :)

It was at the Rock and Roll Pizza on Powell. Most random name for one of the best venues. I talked to Brock for a few, too. Good dude. Snow capped romance and Bitterness are albums I still play every now and then. Good discs! And yes, Syx always played with them when 36 came. It was nuts. I think one time Strenuus did get to play with them... but we did so many shows at that venue, I could be wrong.

So crazy how full circle things can get, randomly!

I originally was Red Hot & Rolling for a few of these Blazers boards, and up until S2.
Then, a couple years ago....someone came on and had the same moniker with only a change of one letter or something.

So, I changed to Harry's Raincoat. Harry Glickman had been unable to secure funding for the Franchise fee in 1970, left the room dejectedly, upon reaching the street, realized that he had left his raincoat behind. Returned to the room, and Sarkowski was on the phone, returning his call. Financing fell into place, with Sarkowski, Weinberg and one other, and the Trail Blazers franchise was born!! All because of a raincoat!!
