How do you choose who to root for in other games?

Besides the Nets every game, I like to cheer for all Western Conf. Teams if they play a East team. And if they're both Eastern conf. teams, i cheer for the one who is less of a threat to the Nets making the play offs. So right now any loss for the Knicks, Raptors, Sixers and Bulls is just as good as a W for the Nets.

Is this immoral of me?

Not at all, that's pretty much exactly how I do it. Except there is one override. No matter who is playing against the mavericks I root like hell for them to lose, A) because Jkidd is dead to me, and B) because our future could sereiously benefit from a mega-collapse by those damn Mavericks.

How can u not root for teams that will help u out in the standings if they win?

I wouldn't say that I really root for any other teams. I'll still watch other teams, but it's sort of a game by game basis on who I'd rather see win.

I don't root for anyone. Wanting the Nets' rivals and competitors to lose isn't the same as rooting for the teams which face them to win.

Teams I root for other than the Nets are Lakers, Hornets, Blazers, Knicks, and Cavs.

Lakers because they've been my 2nd favorite team since Shaq left because I always liked Kobe and never liked Shaq. Like Odom a lot too. I root for the Hornets, not really sure why. I have since Paul came into the league. I root for the Blazers because I'm a big LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden fan. I root for the Knicks because I'm from NY and it sucks that they haven't been relevant for years. I do like the Mavs cause of Kidd, but I still want them to lose for the Nets' benefit. And Cavs because of LeBron, he's probably my favorite player in the league right now behind VC and Kidd.
