How do you feel?

I remember there was a lot of talking about possibly drafting Rondo in the 2006 draft. However, he was taken by PHX (right before Nets' turn), and traded to Boston. The Nets ended up with Marcus, and we were all ecstatic at the time. Obviously Marcus has yet to live up to the small hype, but are you bitter up not having Rondo? I'm sure some would say Rajon would be a great pick, but do you think he would fit well in the Nets system?

i agree i was hyped at the time when we drafted williams... but he's been just dissapointing to watch. his lack of emotion... turnover to assist ratio... his handles as a point guard aren't good at all and he makes a good # of mistakes in terms of shot selections and lazy passes.

I dunno. We probably would've been more successful with Rondo. And we probably wouldn't have traded Kidd when we did. That means no semi-rebuilding. No Devin and Diop. No 2 1st round draft picks this year.

Who knows, possibly no Sean, either. Although, we also would probably still have Collins.

So, I guess I feel more content by not drafting Rondo. As of now, we have a much better future. I guess everything happens for a reason.

Rondo really has not had to fight for playing time. You put Marcus there for a couple years and have Rondo behind Kidd and you would be wanting Marcus.

for me its ok that hes not emotional. thats his personality. but to come out and play like that... he seemed lost and not mentally READY. if frank was any kind of a coach he woulda picked it up and sat marcus down. i dont get y he took out carter... we were cut the deficit down to 5 and he takes out carter... for no apparent reason...

and carter is playin like the 60mill/4year man

If anyone is familiar with chaos theory (or its application away from strictly mathematical formulas), you might ask yourself if Rondo would have become the PG he is today had he dropped to the Nets. Hm...

Rondo is very overrated by pretty much everyone. The only thing Rondo can really do better than Marcus now is defend, and he has little upside to go along with it. Marcus has potiential to be a star, and even if he isn't, he can still become a good starter. Rondo will only be a guy who can defend well, and occasionally have a good game on offense.

I was ecstatic when we drafter Marcus. I thought he would be our PG of the future. But at this point I don't think he will ever be able to carry a team like NJ. He would have to be starting on a completely stacked team like the Suns or Nugs to really feel comfortable. I've totally given up on him and would love to see us try to move him in the offseason.

I don't really care that we passed up on Rondo. I don't think he would've fit in well with this team when Kidd was here. Frank would've played him as little as he played Marcus so he would've still been raw at this point had he been drafted by us.


If I could do it over, I would've like to have drafted Farmar or Lowry over both of them.

marcus needs to get MENTALLY prepared each game. didnt jordan say it b4, that the game is all about being mentally prepared! dammit marcus your talented just get your head in the game, dont care bout you being non-emotional.

When you're sitting behing a PG who is averaging 36+ minutes a game it will be tough to develop...Marcus would be a much better player if he was in Rondo's situation or in Farmar's situation.

When he's started his been solid...he's freaking 22 years old...people need to chill.

Bynum? Not sure, but I'll definitely say he's impressed me.

It works both ways really. I think Rondo would be averaging more assists, had he not been in Boston. Guys like Pierce and Garnett demand the ball, and don't really look to score off passes. They create their own offense.

As for Rondo's offense, having the "Big Three" does help him. Opponents have to worry about 3 excellent players, so Rondo is often forgotten about. In that aspect, he benefits from playing in Boston.

Just a quick question, what do you guys think about Jordan Farmar, the point guard taken behind Rondo and Williams? How would you rank him amongst those two?

LOL yeh right, anyone ever thought how big of an influence KG was to Rondo, before KG got there Rondo was a near run of the mill Mardy Collins(SCRUB) give Marcus time he hasn't really gotten any burn other than that 1 1/2 week when Kidd was let go. You have to give him his time to fail and progress, any body also wonder w/ Kidd quitting on the team and not being the idea tutor for Rondo how worse he would have gotten ? or if Marcus was taken in by Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers how good Boston would be ?... Marcus is a damn good PG but I doubt he will be that here on the Nets because what really happened is the coaching staff has quit on him.

ive grown tired of marcus, his offense is inconsistent and his defense is horrible. i could care less if he goes to another team and thrives because, like wright, he won't work here. we should have drafted rondo if he were available

i for one havent given up on marcus... he and devin can be a solid 1 - 2 punch of PG's and i like seeing them playing together
