Some countries have a testing system that funnels non academic students toward art or trade secondary schools and others into academia....here we sort of let them figure it out themselves and if you have enough money non of that matters...you can buy your way into college. Trade schools are an excellent alternative to academic degrees. I believe scholarships for our most talented students is what makes us a great nation. The poorest kid could become the most gifted professional if money didn't separate talent from access. Trades should be attractive to talented young people....too many people work at jobs they don't like at all or have no talent for. Teachers are like talent scouts if they are good teachers...they know who the naturals are.

This isn't a partisan issue. I know many people on both sides not happy with congress and our government. Both sides have had standoffs that resulted in inaction.

This is about government efficiency which transcends which party is in office.

Necessary services are best handled by government. That much is clear.

I feel like I have heard something like this being used somewhere. At least the exploding part to destroy the item so it's useless.

Stores used to have those on clothes back in the 90s. You'd see these fools with ink stains on their JNCO's back in the day.

An updated version of that. Something to mark them, their getaway vehicle, etc and make the item unsellable.

I read that these upscale retailers would rather burn their merchandise versus having it go on sale, as it devalues their items.

Let me guess, flash mob theft is a misdemeanor? Well, I guess it depends on the value of the item? Still low level I guess according to the law.

I think if you are in a flash mob like that, stealing a bunch of stuff from a store, each person involved should be responsible for the complete value of everything stolen, not just what they took individually.

They should be charged under RICO. Problem is these fucks get away with it and are terrorizing people living normal lives now. They are a menace to society and I hope some of these people get put down by someone (i.e. steal from the wrong person) because the local law enforcement/DA's office is too chickenshit to do anything about it.

Need to go back to the days where security guards can beat the shit out of these rugrats.

This is the direct product of our national leaders not being held accountable for their own bad conduct and abuse of power. Hey....they are all getting away with theft...Bannon stole wall money, etc....instead of being in jail, they are on the talk show circuit....walk the walk and hold all the crooks accountable. Crooks are not that afraid of our justice system anymore.

I use to love to play with phone scammers. One time I pretended to have a kitchen fire and ask him to wait while I put it out then I pretended to call the fire department on another line.
Sometimes I would tell them I wanted to buy their service with my credit card then then give them a phony credit card number.
Other times I would feign interest and then say just a minute and put the phone down while I did something else just to see how long before they would hang up.
Now I'm too old to put up with their shit and tell them I'm hanging up to call the police or I just hang up and curse them.

My go to would be to turn around and try to sell them some of my useless junk. "No, I'm not interested in the extended warranty but I do have this old pair of skis. They're great!"
