Ever since the 2007 NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers have been a team the NBA has kept an eye on. That mere "eye" became "eyes," and the quick sideglance at the team became a stare as the Blazers went on a 13-game winning streak in 2007-08 without Greg Oden, whom they drafted first overall in the 2007 Draft. Oden was out for the year with injuries, but was supposed to return the subsequent season.

The next season the Blazers finished fourth in the Western Conference, compiling a 58-24 record, as well as having Greg Oden for 61 games. Unfortunately for the fans in Rip City, the Blazers were ousted from the playoffs by a red-hot Houston Rockets team.

They are looking at a number of players to acquire this offseason. Hedo Turkoglu had reportedly been in verbal agreement with the Blazers to sign a contract just days ago, but quickly changed his mind and headed to Toronto to negotiate an eventual monster contract with the Raptors.

But in a matter of hours, the Blazers had been mentioned in rumors once again, this time being linked to Knicks forward David Lee.

Which raises a question: How good is Portland?...............

Geez, that was a shittily written article.

This kind of summarized it for me

It's unclear on what the Blazers would give up for Lee right now, but I can't say for sure whether or not Lee would be the right player for them.

The whole point of the article was to talk about Lee with the Blazers, and he comes across with that convincing argument. Multiple things in there showed he hadn't really watched the Blazers much either.

The title of the article really should be How good will LaMarcus and Oden be since that will determine how good Portland is.

I thought we only won 54 games, not 58.

No it was 58. Some of us have chosen to reverse the following games below that the league recorded as losses.

1) 12/12/08 vs The Clippers (Blake misses 4/5 FT in the final 51 seconds/Choke Game)
2) 12/9/08 vs The Majic (Hedo Miracle Bank shot at the buzzer)
3) 1/17/09 vs The Bobcats (Blazers go 16-31 from the FT line and lose by 5 in OT, including B-Roy 3-10)
4) 12/25/09 vs The Mavs (Mavs close the game 12-2 to win by 8, after Howard was ejected late in the 3rd)

So yeah, it was 58-24.

But the Houston, @ Toronto, and @ Memphis games count?

Aren't you forgetting the first time the Thunder and the Blazers played?

If it's any consolation I'm still trying to make myself forget too.

No, I actually considered that one! But weren't they up by 25 points in 2nd quarter? That game wasn't close enough to qualify as "robbery" (although it was a really BAD loss)
