How Japan’s ‘BBC’ is rewriting its role in Second World War

How about their role in completely destroying the Earth's oceans by continually pumping trillions of gallons of radioactive waste into them, and in turn killing the Earth's food supply, and eventually all life on the Earth?

I find that a much more compelling and relevant topic to anyone still alive today.

The notion that Japan's government ever did anything selfless for another country is beyond ludicrous.

Naoki Hyakuta says Japan was lured into the Second World War by America while liberating Asia from white colonialism.

I suppose they need to rewrite Nanking history. But changing the Name of Iwo Jima pisses me off.
I can't figure out why Nixon gave the Island back to Japan, I figure the Marine's own it.
27000+ casualties should have made it so forever. It is now Iwo TO because a few islanders want it returned to it's original name. I sort of question that because when you look at a chart of the area, every other Island is (name) Jima and now also have a "To". err, yep it must be so.

I guess time has carved this rational in to the stone of history.
"1945: Those who study history know it was necessary to acquire the island, Iwo Jima, so that the B29 bombers that were bombing Japan would have a chance to land in case they could not make it back to their home bases. The island of Iwo Jima is located midway between Tokyo and Mariana Islands (Saipan), the nearest USA-held bases. History shows that this was a wise decision, although the cost in lives was high."

I never could pencil that logic out as being sound logic at all since the US Navy owned the Sea at that time in that area. Bomber crews could have been picked up at Sea by Destroyers. Perhaps more dangers for the Bomber crews but compared to the loses incurred to get them a dry landing, the cost was appauling and completely stupid in comparison. If the US Airforce had lost every B29 in it's fleet of B29s bombing Japan with all 11 of each planes crew, it would not total the killed in action to take Iwo Jima. Of coarse many of these Airman could have been picked up at sea by the Navy, they had ample experence doing so for their own crews by this time.

But the rational still survives even though the math sucks.
