There were only 76 players in the league last year that hit at least .355 on at least 245 3PA. An average of 2.5 per team. Wolves have 5 of those, or two teams' worth. That's pretty strong.

.355 3FG% is below league average (.358). And since there is only one basketball, those five guys can't possibly all shoot ≥ 245 3FGA this season, you should probably cut that number in half.

If you do, there were 116 players, nearly four per team, in the league last year that shot ≥ .355 3FG% on at least 123 3FGA. Not one of MIN's players was in the top half of that group. Of those 116, MIN's five ranked: 66th (Aaron Brooks), 86th (Towns), 87th (Butler), 102nd (Crawford), 108th (Teague) and 111th (Wiggins).

They don't have a single elite 3-point shooter. What they have is five average shooters that jack up a lot of shots - but only one basketball.

Being below average means you can't do it well. I stand by my assertion.

Mainly because you switch them, they don't make the West. Just because you make the All star in the East doesn't mean you're actually an all star if you're in the west. Too many factors.

If we go back to your original criteria of ≥ 245 3FGA, it looks even worse. Yes, they have five players on that list, but all five are in the bottom 20. They are Towns (56th, .367), Butler (57th, .367), Crawford, (67th, .360), Teague (71st, .357) and Wiggins, (73rd, .356).

What I'm seeing is a whole lot of meh, three slightly above average 3-point shooters and two slightly below average. What you are calling a strength, I would call, at best, not a weakness.

For comparison, would you call Al-Farouq Aminu a strong three point shooter? In 2015-16, he shot .361 3FG% (better than three of MIN's five, and within spitting distance of the other two. Yet he was the guy LAC and GSW left wide open in the play offs and flat out dared to shoot.

He was down to .330 last year, but after coming back from his injury, shot .373 3Fg% - better than all of the Minnesota Five.

If you knew, going into the season, that Al-Farouq Aminu was potentially our best 3-point shooter, would you consider 3-point shooting one of our strengths?

I am not at all. I said Blazers fans over here would think we would make the WCF if not further if we had that much talent. Shit, they said we'd get HCA in the first round with what we have now.

Not really. I'm not a fan of Wiggins, and wouldn't think he's that great even with him on my team. I'd say it's certainly possible but I'd have the same opinion. No bench, 15th-20th ranked defense, and 10th to 15th ranked offense.

Y'all are overrating the Wolves.

That may be true but that is the same thing that people said about the Jazz last year. Wolves were young and now added some quality veteran players....the kind I would have liked to have in Portland. They aren't going to be contenders but I think they will be battling in the same record area that Portland is in unless Nurkic does something he has never done and stays healthy and beasty for an entire season.

Thomas Robinson is obviously not an all star because he doesn't even have a contract. If it has to do with personality issues or other reasons I don't know but talent-wise he could be an All-Star. Warren Gillis could be a backup guard for us, 5-10 minutes a game, more if we didn't sign Briscoe and Goodwin, and if Oden was ever healthy he would have been an amazing player. If you told me he's healthy now and it was up to me, i'll sign him

The reason that you don't understand is he sucks at basketball. Great athlete with no skills (still can't even make a free throw to save his life) and the BBIQ of a doorstop.

Actually, I take that back. A doorstop would make far fewer boneheaded plays and unforced errors.

Seven teams have give up on him in five years, many of them among the worst teams in the league (PHI, BRK, LAL, SAC) and not one single team has regretted it.

I wonder if YOU posting this will mean anything to these guys. Been saying this for a couple months and everybody freaks out on me. Of course they will. They have acquired a TON of talent. If they don't gel, they will be a blast to watch.
If we had their talent, guys on here would say we were headed to the WCF, but because it's somebody else.......

It's only my analysis. Thibs as coach - he's elite. Multiple veteran superstars - Butler and Teague. Two young superstars - Wiggins and Towns. Taj Gibson is no slouch for a 5th option. Crawford off the bench gives them an aged but able 6th man.

If Thibs gets them playing defense, they have more than enough offense to destroy a lot of teams.
