I'm pretty sure he won't be here a year from now...

My prediction is before the season starts!

Larry has Teflon fibers woven into his suits (special Nike design). There's no fucking way ...

Why would he be fired? The Rose Garden has a nice long sellout streak going and season ticket sales are surprising good considering the craptacular season we just had.

The guy has no charisma at all. He's the very definition of "a suit". I was watching him on CSMN and he's just boring to listen to.

How much is he involved with roster moves? If we somehow end up trading our lotto picks for late 20's/nearly 30 year-old "veteran" I'll be driving the fire Larry Miller bandwagon.

Well if there ever was a valid reason to fire a guy, it's that he has no charisma.

Interesting you say this as your critique of him. He is actually quite the opposite. Very interesting guy to talk to.

Considering he has been the front-man for the franchise over the last few years, I think it would definitely help.

I think it's that he doesn't come off as very impressive on camera ... but whatever, I couldn't give two shits about that, he should only be judged as an executive and those metrics mostly involve profitability and revenue.

Unless he is tampering in the basketball operations and then those dynamics change.

Because he and Paul Allen are no longer on the same page. Remember our GM got fired at the peak of our incline, so results aren't the determining factor around Rip City for people to keep their job. I'm saying he's gone before the season starts!

I'm not sure he's been the front man, in the manner that you (and others) imply.

But with all of the smoke and mirrors and secrecy that surround this franchise, we don't really know that he has been.

Hasn't he pretty much been running all the press conferences for the past two or three years? We don't really have a 'face of the franchise' right now, but he's the one who went on CSMN to talk about the new hire, he's usually the guy at the press conferences, I just think the dude could be a little more engaging. I've just never really liked his vibe.

so basically, you think he should be fired because you don't like him.

Not based on if he's helped change the business aspect of the Blazers (ticket sales, ad sales, etc), but that you think he's not engaging enough.

Look, I don't like the guy, but I don't think he should be canned unless he stops performing his job adequately.

Look I don't want to come off as defending Miller, I don't particularly like his style and I have serious questions (that mostly can't be answered) about the role has played in personnel moves the past two years, but I also think he's something of a marionette with Vulcan/Kolde/Allen pulling the strings. I don't know how much blame/credit to give him because I don't know how much of him being front and center is him seeking it or being told to.

No no, you guys misunderstand. I'm not saying he should be fired because he's a stiff. I was just explaining why I don't like the guy. I think he should be fired because I personally think the entire front office should be sterilized. Bring in Olshey and start fresh. We don't know who made what decisions, but there have been too many questionable moves that may or may not have had Miller's stamp of approval on them. The letter to the Memphis Grizzlies is a good example. I don't like the guy, but I also think it's time for a fresh start.

Well your arms have to be tired from towing that company line :drumroll:

Ahhhh, gotcha'. I'm biased I will admit. Larry is a real cool guy actually....... shit because of him I have had the pleasure of getting to meet 2 of my heroes growing up. MJ and Muhammad Ali!

I think people are off base if they think this franchise makes decisions based off of metrics/success. I love this team, I love this franchise, I've been accused of being an apologist for every head coach we've ever had, but I think the writing is on the wall for Larry Miller to be shown the door...

in that case, I don't disagree.

two questions i know each of us are going to ask..

did he molest you and did he knock you out?

You let your personal relationships cloud your view of the team. I used to be that way. I hated the main guys like Damon, Bonzi, and Theo and I loved the guys on the bench who never got the play but were super chill to talk to. The thing is, just because you like someone personally doesn't mean they're the best for the team. The Blazers are your profession, but for the people on this board, the Blazers are an escape. A means to vent frustrations in their everyday lives. Work sucks so I'm going to watch some hoops. Well, if work sucks and the team sucks, that makes it really fucking hard to unwind.

That works for me, but unfortunately it wouldn't expunge all of the fetid, rotting bits until Kolde gets kicked out of the decision making process and Allen removes the Vulcan layer that stands between he and Olshey.

Great post! I will admit there are things good and bad that I have seen and heard that I obviously don't post here. But I believe what I post. I felt the way about this team long before I started working for them.
