Last year I expected to do a lot better than we did. I was pissed about the lack of motivation and all around sluggishness. We have a lot of talent on our team now. People forget that Devin Harris has played in the NBA finals. Maybe my expectations and bias towards the Nets are blinding me but I think we can make the playoffs. Is that ridiculous? If we go into the season just figuring we wont make it, we wont make it. All the talk coming from management is that we are rebuilding and developing, and while that may be true, it doesn't mean we shouldn't try to make a push. Let me know what you think.

I am for less then what we did last year.

Anything that gets us high lottery ping pongs.

i expect us to make the playoffs... i really do... if VC can put up numbers and harris can push the ball with the young guys running i dont see why not... i just hope all our guys would dedicate more to defense... cuz last year we played some horrible defense... and i mean HORRIBLE... we need to play defense... i remember numerous times last year that one of our guys would get beat and no one would help... we need to be dedicated to "TEAM DEFENSE"

defense wins games and when we play defense im hoping we can hit some open shots... i expect that from Yi and anderson and cdr

I think a realistic number, would be 40-43 wins. You guys don't have a horrible team, but it's going to be tough with new chemistry.

I expect 35 games, no more, no less.

I can't wait for Hollinger's annual reading of the crystal ball.

THere isn't enough information to make a rational prediction. There are too many unknown variables on this team. On one hand, you can make a lot of comparisons to the 2001-02 team. On the other hand, we know nothing about how they will mesh, whether the youngsters will succeed, whether they will have defensive unity, and whether Coach Frank can get the most out of this group. If they are going to succeed, it will be just as important for Sean, Marcus and Boone to take that great leap forward as it is for the rookies (and Yi) to prove they belong.

Who the heck knows. Just let them be entertaining, and not a total mess.

I'll say 37-40 wins if Vince and Devin each play 78 or more games. If Nenad stays and somehow returns to his early 06 form, I'll bump that up to 42. Depending on the rest of the conference, Nets might squeak into the playoffs.

47 wins.

My bad.

Probably a little bit worse than last year. I'll go with 32 wins.

28-53

Still no inside presence and now one less reliable scorer

So they're only playing 80 games? I'm going with 34-48.

Lol Moo, I meant between 38-42 wins.

35 to 40 wins.

Anything more would be a successful story.

I say 36 wins and we'll be fighting for a playoff spot.

If there's some unexpected development.... meaning our guys got really really good, or VC step really really up...
Then I say 56 wins.

My hope: 0-82 - I want Blake Griffin or Ricky Rubio.

What the Nets will probably do: 35 wins.

Enough wins to get us a top 3 pick next year. Why not? It's not like the next 2 seasons are going to matter according to management.

Plus Rubio would look nice in a Nets uni

Derozen would be a better fit, could replace Vince.

Or we could trade the pick in a package for Melo

Harris, Lebron,Melo,Yi,Lopez

I'm going to root for them to win every game, hope they are entertaining and give us great memories, pray that by the end of the season they are playing team basketball and putting each other and the team's goals above personal glory, and expect them to be pretty high in the lottery.
