How to clear space on your harddrive

Here's the deal.I have 181 (Yes, 181) MB of free space on my C: Drive. I need 1.8 GB to install something I need to run PS. I just don't know how to free that much space. I don't have much installed at all, the biggest thing being Microsoft Office. I don't have anything else above 200 MB installed.Any ideas?

But ya, add a new hard drive is the way to go with only 180 mb left. I think unless you do some hard deleting/uninstalling, you're better off with adding a drive.

Yeah I know what it feels like, I only have 150 GB left...the answer is pretty obvious, just delete anything unnecessary.OR, if you have an USB 2.0 port buy a external hard drive..external hard drives with lower USB versions are good too but are sometimes slow.

If you have any movie files delete them.what I'm wondering is how you got down to 181 megabytes without anything more than 200 megabytes. Either you're a porn head or it's time to get a new computer.

Maybe he has one of those older 20 gig hard drives. That's the kind my mom's computer has and it sucks

This isn't even my computer, it's my dad's he uses for work. Like I said, there isn't really anything on here. I don't know what's taking up so much space.It's only a 15 gig if that means anything. Now I just looked and it jumped up to 529 somehow.

Then right click the hard drive you want to look at space for and click properties.

You might be able to delete enough if you go on a deleting spree of everything that you don't need, but that's the only way, no shortcut to do that. That's about 10 year old technology

The current brand new Macbooks (60 gig hard drive) are using hard drives that could have been in that price range 4 years ago. Hard Drives are always an area companies skimp on because they think that people will never notice and would rather have a thousand dollar 2 ghz computer with a 60 gig hd than a 1100 dollar 2 ghz computer with an 100 gig hd. It's capitalism.It'll probably be 6 years until terabyte hard drives are standard in every computer, but they only cost about 200 dollars for companies to make now.
