Sometimes I wondered, but then I realized it was totally racist... then I realized we hired Mo to appease Zach, and how that was totally racist... then my head exploded.

I wonder if vocal depth and success are correlated. Rick Adelman has a high whiny voice that cuts like a knife through crowd noise, and he's always been pretty successful.

I am not being serious, but here are some numbers for you

1 black head coach in the last 25 years has won the NBA finals

2 black head coaches in the last 25 years have been to the NBA finals

14 black head coaches to start the NBA season
 
^Damn! I guess you can't argue with numbers like that. And one was Mike Brown huh?
 
Dwight does bring up a valid point: Malone has never been a head coach on any level.

But he does have 11-years experience as an NBA assistant. There's a reason why every new coach last summer, especially the Lakers, wanted Malone added to their staff. From every interview I've read/articles he's a defensive guru in the mold of Thibs and GS knew that -- which is why they made him the highest paid assistant coach in the game.

Brendan Malone was in over his head when he finally got a HC job, though, and was passed over when he took over the Cavs in 04-05 for a small stint.

Then hire a woman! Pat Summitt was sadly forced into retirement but there are others.
I always wanted Summitt - I could just see her turning that glare on Rasheed Wallace and him meekly saying "yes, ma'am".

How can a woman teach her team to drive towards the basket when no woman can drive at all? It would be like hiring an Asian coach
 
What are we gonna wait until Malone, Shaw and the other top coaching candidates are picked up by other teams until we finally make our push for a coach?

The one saving grace this year is that there hasn't been huge turn over in the head coaching ranks. It's really been Us, Charlotte and Orlando now.....right? Woodson is going to be the Knicks guy I am pretty sure

I mentioned on the old forum that Pat Summitt would be a great coach for the Jail Blazers. Not with this group though
