Is Marcus Camby our version of Rasheed Wallace for the Pistons?

And discuss!

No.

He's a very good veteran player, but he's not to be THE one to take us over the top.

Marcus Canby is our access to LMA being the player we all want him to be, a young sheed with the character of a humble team player a la B-Roy

Thanks KP

No, but he's better than Joel & he's better than Greg. We need to keep him.

If we had him before the trading deadline, we'd be fighting for home court advantage.

We NEED to resign him in the offseason. With Dunleavy out in Clip land, any under the table deal they may have had in place is gone. PA needs to throw $30 million 3 years at him to get him to stay in Portland.

I really wonder what the chances are of us keeping him past this season.

If the Blazers actually pull off a first round upset, what does that say about Miller and Camby vs Greg, Joel, Blake, and Travis?

Not much.

The Blazers are clearly better with Miller and Camby, but they'd be even better if they also had Greg and Joel available. Blake and Travis probably don't matter that much because of the play of Bayless, Howard, and Cunningham.

It says the following: Oden is very young and raw. Joel is very appreciated for his hustle, but overall he is not as effective as Camby. Travis is a fan favorite that has one of the lowest bball iqs in the whole NBA. Miller & Camby have played a combined 55,954 minutes in the NBA. Joel, Oden, and Travis have played a combined 21,047 minutes. I think that says it all really, there is no substitute for experience.

I call bullshit. Everyone knows our version of Rasheed Wallace for the Pistons is Travis Diener.

End of discussion.

It says that Pritchard should abandon his misbegotten youth movement and obtain more experienced players.

losing camby for us will be like the pistons losing billups.

i have no faith in greg whatsoever. hes a bust and joel was always just average. camby makes
us a real team. fuck oden and his gimpy knees imo.

well I've been battling a cold so excuse me for taking 12 hours to grasp the OP point, but yes Camby could be called the Blazers version of the Pistons getting Sheed. Like pulling the last card to complete a strait, his addition gives them a formidable starting 5 of talented and complimentary players. Unlike the Pistons, Portland has a clear best player but the others are all comparable in their impact and play the game together "the right way". I've been feeling the Pistons parallels too...

I loved watching that team, mostly because of their unselfishness and D
