hypothetical lillard/irving question

I remember a couple years ago when I said Irving was a can't miss prospect and people were trying to convince me I was crazy. Particularly Ed. O

Thats true but there were a couple of years (08-11 I believe) that it was an actual debate that was on ESPN a lot. I know making it on ESPN doesn't mean its anything but i'm just using that as an example of the fact it was a discussion topic.

Deron was much better head to head and had more playoff success. If Deron has a better post season this year with the stacked Nets team it could easily be a debate again. CP3 knee could be a ticking time bomb any year now.

Dallas let a 29 year old Steve Nash walk so they could sign Erick Dampier, who know whats left in store for these PG's as they play into their 30's.

I'm just happy with the #6 pick, we got a player of Lillard's caliber. I'm pretty sure some people above us would like a redo of that draft.

Namely Sacramento. Dame gave them a MONSTER workout and they passed on him. Now we have THEIR #5 Pick!
They should have never gave up on Thomas Robinson.

Everybody always turns a blind eye when I teach them about things.

That's because you continually damage your credibility with Gonzaga homerism. And you're an arrogant shit, but most people are willing to forgive that.

This is Zag's way of trolling you guys, and you're falling for it hook, line, and sinker.

I wouldn't trade Lillard for Irving, I love Irving's game but I feel like Lillard going forward will be less of a headache, a better leader, and will, will a team to victory.

I like to think of it this way in comparing Lillard and Irving... Lillard is like Paul/Williams while Irving is like Westbrook/Rose.

Minnesota should be better than Portland, they have Rubio!

actually, they should be a fun team to watch this year.

Irving was quite a bit better in head to head matches last year, so i think we would be better. Hopefully Lillard has closed the gap this summer though.

They played one game against each other. Crazy thing about that game is that while CLE won, Irving was a -2, while Lillard was a -1.

Irving is much more talented than Lillard. I love Damian, but given the chance to trade him for Kyrie, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Yes, players who are injured a bunch are ideal for Portland.

You are in constant need of validation, right?

No. I just like spreading knowledge and in translation that wealth of knowledge to be appreciated. I get taken for granted around here sometimes.

Yeah, that's what I said. How amazing of you to call the #1 pick in the draft to be a potentially great player.

lol, you have no room to talk.

I don't troll. I give my opinion. NateBishop, who brought up the trolling, is a troll, IMO. Plus, he sends angry PMs when he gets his feelers hurt!

I think anyone watching the game last night could see the gulf between Lillard and Irving. Lillard is a solid player, but Irving may already be the best on offense in the entire league. (Shame about his D.) I know everyone hates Isiah, with good reason, but he's right to call him unguardable.

Kyrie's a monster. I think he has better handles than CP. Dame might be the better P&R player, but Kyrie is better at everything else.

I think the only hypothetical Lillard/Irving question should be, will Lillard ever be on the same level that Irving is? And keep in mind that Irving is 2 years younger than Lillard.

Also keep in mind that I love Lillard's game, so this is not a bash

I will take the less spectacular but likely durable Lillard. Irving is other-worldly but fragile.

Hmm, "other-worldly but fragile". We're Blazer fans. We have no experience with that kind of player.

Irving is better in all stats per minute. But until he stops missing 20-30 games per season, I wouldn't trade Lillard for him.
