I am all for trading out of this draft...First off: It's a weak ass draft...

that word doesn't mean what you think it means, especially if you're applying it to Al Horford and Beal and Oladipo and Porter and...nevermind.

I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that LA will stay when his contract is up, so POR would be foolish IMO to not at least explore or listen to what teams like CLE, OKC, HOU etc might be willing to offer for him...all 3 of those teams BTW have multiple young players\picks to potentially add to a deal as well, which IMO could be enticing to POR...

Thompson BTW is a good young prospect, only 22 years old....I don't think his ceiling is Aldridge level but a 15-17, 8-10 guy, maybe a little more is certainly possible....and at #3 POR could get a guy like Noel, McLemore, Oladipo, Bennett and at #19 they could get another nice young player as well....IF I were POR I would ask for Zeller in the deal as well.....

I don't think that is a bad return at all for LA....consider that UTA got D.Harris, D.Favors, and 2 1st round picks (Kanter being one player they took and #21 this year)....

Thompson is undersized as is Bennett. Don't want either one as a starter. Nor do I like Porter who is raw as they come.

So if Noel and McLemore go 1, 2 then really what we are talking about is LMA for Oladipo and #19.
That does not excite me. I have no problem trading LMA, but they would have to be pretty damn sure Oladipo is all that. That particular scenario seems too risky.

If by "pushing the Blazers to the next level" you mean a guy who is going to be a franchise player then no, there's nobody like that in this draft (at any spot) but to say that there's nobody who could help boost this team's overall talent level and depth (cheaply!) -- particularly at the guard spots -- then you're likely wrong. The Brandon Roy-LMA draft class was seen as being particularly weak and plenty of contributors came out of that one.

The Blazers already have a franchise player in Lillard and 2 side kicks in Aldridge and Batum. They are ready to make the next jump and this draft will not help.

That quite frankly makes no sense whatsoever.

How often do players retire with the team that drafted them?

Not many; but I think Aldridge is loyal to his team. He seems he's all about the team. But whatever man. Let's just say his best years will be one as a blazer.

Joel Freeland or Meyers Leonard, Aleksandar Pavlovic and #10 to PHX for Marcin Gortat and #30.

I would do Freeland and #10 but I would not give up Leonard AND #10 for Gortat.

#10 has value. There will be some good shooters available. But more than likely Phoenix will want cap space instead of Freeland.
