Just bought a 240G PS3 from BestBuy today! My son got it for "me" for my birthday next week. Went to the GameStop and picked up some good used games for us...... Tiger Woods/NBA2K/some RallyRace game/ToyStory3/and Call of Duty 4. Didn't really mind if they were used and old, I don't ever play games like you nerds. I'm not a gamer or whatever you guys call it. Speaking of nerds, wondering if you guys can give me any recommendations on how to use this thing. I see I can hook it up with netflix. I already have it hooked up to my internet. I also have a 1tb drive full of movie I downloaded.... errrr...... borrowed from the internet. I had been putting them on a flashdrive and just watching them on my TV, but I heard I can just hook the drive up to the PS3 and watch them that way. Is this true? Anyway, as you know, THE HCP is not up to speed in the world of the geek, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Basically, what is the best way to get the most out of this thing. Whoever helps the most, gets a dirty pic of Mrs. HCP!

You have to have NetFlix mail you a disk.

I have the netflix hookup with PS3 also. Go online and register for the free disk, and you can set up your "Instant Queue" online, so that you just pop in the disk they send you and you can browse through your queue.

I don't know how to set up external drives to it.

The external drive working with the PS3 will depend on how it is formatted. If you just started using it (the hard drive) straight out of the box, more than likely it will work.

WARNING: Geek speak ahead
The PS3 will read FAT32 but not NTFS or EXT2/3.

Most external drives (memory cards, thumb drives, etc.) come formatted in FAT32 (meaning it will work). Plug in the Hard drive to the PS3 and if it shows up under the "Video" section of the Playstation OS, it will work just fine.

Also, COD4 is old but it's a classic. You gotta play it online!
