ST notes and info associated with thread TOPIC...
Yeah yeah, I know we're still in ST but why not have some up to date good news and some nice old fashion feel good positive "optimism"?

Gregorius is now batting .273, .346 OBP, .500 SLG%, .846 OPS and stole a base today.
Andrew Bailey 29 yrs old, (RH reliever), says his arm has never felt better.
He owns a career 2.64 ERA, 1.05 WHIP despite struggling through arm issues the past couple seasons.

Girardi has said the competition for the #5 spot has now officially begun and he's named Rogers, Whitley, Warren and Mitchell (22 yrs old) as the candidates.
All are under 30 yrs old and I'm hoping Mitchell gets the spot...let's find out about this kid, he has pitched well in his short stint as a Yankee and who knows, he could bloom into a nice young SP gem.

Finally - saw a very recent article regarding how Arod has helped out Bird and other young Yankee prospects with good veteran advice....according to BIRD.

Here's the link.

So....Judge and Cave in the first cuts of ST. I'm quoting post #1 to demonstrate the example as to why not to get prematurely excited.

OK...debate on....you're on the 51st time now.....

Ridiculous isn't it Tom?

With all due respect sir, YOU are the latest one to comment regarding my original post, so I guess I owe YOU a reply....
......sorry guys but he obviously has chosen to bring the matter up AGAIN which DOES pertain to my post #1.

So you think you've provided some insightful revelation by pointing out Judge and Cave being "the first cuts of ST".
Whooptey dam doo, most or all of the young prospects have be reassigned back to the minors in the middle of ST....earth shattering piece of info...lmao.

I really don't mean to make you look silly but you kinda deserve it.
Does Judge and Cave being reassigned to the minors change the fact that they ARE considered to be part of a good crop of Yankee farmhand prospects who should/could be ready in a year or two?
.....AND, I NEVER said I expected most or all of these prospects to make the team and lead the Yanks to the WS.

Now stop acting like a stupid little attack dog.....it's becoming annoying.

lol...since we're using small sample sizes, here's 6 of the 9 starting spots this spring;

Ellsbury .222
McCann .217
Teixeira .192
Drew .167
Beltrán .158
Gardner .138

... this team is an offensive juggernaut and I have visions of a 28th WS Title.

Still don't know why the hell they signed Capuano. Absolute waste and completely ridiculous.

It's somewhat comforting having Gregorious so far batting over .270 and an OPS over .800, after all , they did trade THE Shane Greene to get him.

Holy shit! Seriously would you stop. You wait for Didi to have a 3-3 game before you start pounding your chest. Where were you prior to last night when he was 3-19 hitting 157.

This act of yours is really getting old, give it a rest.

lol, part of Cashman's "plan".

Actually, and I'm surprised you can't seem to remember, I was bringing his name up as one example in response to those (continuing) dozens of posts mocking and denying that Cashman and the Yanks aren't trying to get younger when he was batting well below .200.

And speaking of very tired acts, I'm surprised the "board" hasn't blamed Cashman whenever there's a snow storm.

You just can't help yourself can you. Keep digging.

...I believe that it has been mentioned that Bird should be the backup 1Bman instead of Jones.

I'd be okay with that because these kids needs to start somewhere but I also think it wouldn't hurt that if this kid (Bird) is only going to get 100-150 ABs as Teixeira's back up he may be better where is is so he could work further on his craft & get his 400+ ABs.

...I think being around the veterans on a regular basis would do him even better...plus I'm sure Tex could also tutor Bird about the finer points of being an exceptional defensive 1Bman.

Agree

I can live with either choice - keep him on the team if the Yanks could "guarantee" him at least 350-400 ABs or so as a DH/ backup 1b, or send him down for ONE more year of seasoning.
I think the main issues with him not being kept on the team as a part time DH/1b is they would prefer a "veteran" (Jones) getting limited ABs and they want to reserve DH options to give Beltran occasional ABs at DH (to help keep him fresh)....and of course, unfortunately, also Arod if he's still "around" and able to contribute.

There's no way they'd be able to get him 350-400 ABs as a back up.

Grow up and get a fkng life man/boy/kid, whatever the fk you are. Some men no matter there age, just never graduate beyond childhood, and its apparent in your speech pattern's, we've noticed since you came onto this board, and stunk it up to high hell....! You can't take one gram of constructive criticism, to help yourself become diplomatic, or even a kind person towards anyone here. let alone make much sense on any topic esp the Yanx....!

Obviously you remind me of too many kids in grade school, who go around picking on others for attention, until one of those you've picked on gets fed up, and obliterates you, knocking you on your lame ass. Then when you come too; you get up to become even more of a flaming pain in everyone's ass.........spewing more hate, discontent, and pure lack of self worth. Dude you need to consider seeing a Shrink, maybe admit yourself to Bellevue wacky ward.:evilfire:

You should consider using this :evilfire: as your avatar. But then I doubt you can figure out how to create your Avatar, without Daddy's help, so "who is your daddy" The Bosox?

You bombast all others, when YOU ARE THE ONE AND ONLY PROBLEM I SEE ON THIS BOARD.....!

Vic if you're seeing this it may be time to put a lock on it. Just a suggestion.

In the dictionary under the word REDUNDANT it can't say......."See Redundant".

Thanks Rick, I feel the same.....;

From a previous thread to this post: The Definition of "The Voice of Reason", here's a Dictionary's explanation of such, and YEP, this has become REDUNDANT..........on most posts, by blg, he always, I mean ALWAYS, has to flame someone, with sarcastic quips, childish to say the least........

"The voice of reason"- The annoying know-it-all person on a show that won't shut up about being right. Usally the smartest person of the show, that is always right and is the balance so the show won't look senseless...

Wow, lol....almost 200 words (profanity included) of a very personal, nasty, negative insulting analysis of me regarding discussions, debates and opinions about BASEBALL.

Okay, now its my turn.
May I remind you I started this thread based on my positive opinion of this new crop of Yankee prospects (post #1) and in that post I acknowledged it was very early in ST and I never said or expected most or all of those young prospects to make the team....
...I did say this: "If, when, possibly, the Yanks can soon work in one or two young pitchers for the SP, I see a Yankee resurgence.....very soon".

So when a poster (# 120) found it necessary to point out two prospects - Judge and Cave were sent back to the minors it implied that I WAS expecting them to make the team and was putting the emphasis on their early ST performance determining what kind of players they will eventually become.

It looked to me as being sort of a cheap shot attempting to make me look silly.
But that's okay because I had my chance to respond (post # 123).

Do you have any idea how many snide personal comments and insults you have directed at me?

YOU seem to be the one obsessed and angry with someone (me) merely over a couple of opinions you disagree with regarding Cashman, Arod, and "approx" how many games I think the Yanks will win this year.

This hatred you have for Arod is kinda unhealthy, I'm almost (not quite) at the point where I hope Arod can't do it anymore and retires or gets released by the Yanks just so you won't go crazy or throw furniture around. Lmao.

Oh, one last thing,
I really find your little speeches about the Dodgers, getting autographs
and places where you lived-- very often "off topic" and boringly irrelevant.

Keep up the good work and have a great day.

...unfortunately, I don't think that simply locking a thread is going to accomplish anything...I mean, it hasn't yet. (4-5 times)

What the heck?
I wasn't/shouldn't be entitled to respond to that vicious ugly personal attack "post"#143?
Honestly, from my point of view, there's been quite a bit of piling on, exaggeration, over reaction and double standards being practiced.

As I've said other times, I enjoy the "give and take" discussions.....but being criticized just because of having a small minority opinion on a couple of issues is another matter.
Maybe THIS explains some of this "redundancy" stuff?

Anyway, I got the message - I'll play ball. lol

I really don't want to keep having to lock threads. I think we're all adult enough to just move on. Will be more to talk about when the season gets under way.
