I created the greatest Cheat Sheet EVER for a test...take a look

Ok, so on Monday I had a financial accounting test. The class is taught by a 50something Chinese woman who has a VERY thick accent. I cant understand half the words she is saying and have been doing horrible on the weekly quiz. Thank god the class is graded on a curve.

She allowed us a 8.5X11 cheat sheet for the test so instead of studying a bunch of crap I didnt understand and probably fail the test because there was too much to remember. So instead of studying I put all my time into the cheat sheet.

Several hours later with the help of a scanner, photoshop, and a high quality printer I made this:

I knew barley anything about the subject matter and got a 91/100 on the test.
I got the 3rd best grade in the class and rank 5th overall. I rule.

I'm taking financial accounting too and my professor also allows us a "test aid" but we can only bring an index card. One dude filled up his card writing with red ink then wrote over that with green ink.

I used to make cheat sheets for tests when I wasn't allowed to bring one in. Just the process of creating one was a great study technique. Handwritten or typed, though, not scanned.

yep, the smart professors (or at least the ones who actually care about you learning something) let you have a page of notes, as long as it's handwritten. Every time that's happened, I fill up the page with notes but barely even need it on the test.

lol...fuck that guy, I asked him today how he did and his score was so bad he didnt tell me. I was smiling on the inside.

actually yes...lol, but I didnt need it, just had to get real close and lay the paper flat on the desk so it wasnt shaking at all.

(Its much more legible printed rather than on your computer screen)

hooray! How about knowing how to work the system!?! How about dealing with a Chinese teach who can barley speak English trying to teach you a subject you know nothing about??? How about time management? How about in the business world its not all about what you have memorized but also how good are you at finding quality resources?How about I overcame very good odds of getting a F but instead received an A. How about I have an A in all of my other classes.

So when you were in school and the teacher said you could have notes for a test you proclaimed "No! Notes during a test ruin my academic integrity! I will not stand for it!" Right?!? Right?!? You must have said that since you posted what you posted.

My sister works at a college testing center. She sees that stuff all the time. Kids break out the magnifying glass and spend most of their time reading instead of testing.

I found that having too many notes is a bad thing. Rather than relying on my intuition, I spend so much effort trying to validate my thoughts instead of just going with by first answer.

Everybody says that, I call BS at least in my particular situation. The vast majority of the tests I take dont have any open book/open notes but when they are allowed I benefit greatly from them.

I think Im more organized than most when it comes to making cheat sheets or looking something up quickly. I had no problem instantly finding the info I wanted from my cheat sheet. For example on page 2 of my cheat sheet it was organized into columns, first row chapter 1, second row chap 2, etc...
