One at full mast - displaying my unyielding patriotism and pride towards our great country

One at half mast - signifying my remembrance and respect for those who lost their lives on 9/11

I can't believe Osama Bin Laden is still alive and free.

8 fucking years and two wars later.

Amazing.

Agreed. I thought we would have captured him long ago. It pisses me off that we haven't.

It's not really amazing. How long did Mengele live? We never caught Klaus Barbie. And finding them would be a lot easier than finding Bin Laden.

Mengele and Klaus Barbie never attacked this country. Bin Laden did. We have 10 times the motivation to catch Bin Laden, or at least we should.

My roommate asked me if I had any inside info on any terrorist attacks going on today since Im half Iraqi....smartass

...and no i dont smartasses

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

Traitor, or co-conspirator? :dunno:

I hear you, but can we not politicize this thread? I know it's been eight years and time has healed wounds and tempered emotion for a lot people, but today is about remembering the poor individuals who lost their lives in this tragedy and the friends and families who have those painful memories of loved ones taken away from them. And it's about honoring the brave people who risked their lives to save others on that day.

There are 364 other days where we can debate the ideologies and decisions made in the wake of 9/11/01. But today's not that day. Be with friends and family and enjoy a quiet and resolute respect and admiration for those who see this day a little differently than most of us because of their experiences with the tragedy.

what about armenians?

is that like border of the two?
Map

A lot of Armenians escaped to Iran during the Armenian Holocaust. Many of them didn't stay in Iran after the revolution in '79 but there is still a significant Armenian population in Iran.

Proud to be an American.

I'm a Lebanese-American. At the time of 9/11 I was living in VA. I remember this stupid fucking Asian kid in my 8th grade class said I had something to do with 9/11. I bashed his head into the locker.

R.I.P to all the souls that were murdered that day.

Way to represent the middle eastern culture :sigh:

...but a slight part of me says

RIP to the victims. Never, ever will you be forgotten. God Bless America.

Bin Laden is a coward who can't show his face in public anywhere without fear he will be instantly annihilated. Funny how he recruits others to die for his God yet doesn't have the balls to become a "martyr".

Long Live America.

I flew my flag (wasn't really mine, but still...) at half-mast on the 11th, and then at full-mast today.

I was watching a bunch of documentaries of 9/11 on History Channel last night. Some of them were really touching when they showed real handycam footage taken by some of the survivors and people in the streets. A truly depressing moment in world history. RIP to them.

Watched those same documentaries.

That 102 minutes was very sad.

Yeah, that's what one of them was called. I missed the first half of it, though.

Its still really hard for me to watch those. I just feel so bad for the people in the towers.

Bin Laden is dead. The only reason why he's still "alive" is because it's much easier to justify action when the bad guy is still out there.
