That was after running all night in a VM on my macbook pro.

The laptop itself:

$ uptime
7:27 up 28 days, 23:35, 6 users, load averages: 3.96 4.99 6.00

(I use it constantly for work)

I like the "your pc will reboot several times" message.

LOL. Yeah man, Windows 10 is a bit of a shit show.

I still haven't made the jump to it on my gaming rig yet, because of these things I keep seeing. My regular laptop though has it and funny enough hasn't experienced any update fiasco madness yet.

Have you tried using utilities like CCleaner to tidy up the registry? You could also reset windows updates repository by stopping the update service+bits and cleaning out the software distribution folder in your windows folder, then re-starting the services.

Registry? what an abortion.

Sorry to see windows is still windows.

C:\

Still there. That's from the CP/M days (1970s)

Reboot, reboot, reboot.

I had similar trouble with the big update on my laptop. I did a Google search and discovered that the USB doohickie for my Logitech keyboard and mouse causes the update to hang. Pulled that out and it finished the install in just a few minutes. Don't know if that's your issue or not, but passing this along just in case.

Denny, weren't you one of the people trying to convince me to get the Windows 10 update?

This past spring when I was up in Portland with the MarAzul, a guy I met on the Multnomah channel loved the navigation system on MarAzul. So I sold him some of the software and gave him some of the free stuff.

The trouble is, he is a Mac lover, and could not get a navigation system working. So he bit the bullet, got a windows 10 system. Still could not get it working, Long story here on why and I am not going to type that much, but to get him going, I sold him a custom hardware system that I put together, running Windows XP and now he has the navigations/Communication system he wanted.
I don't know how to handle selling system with an out of date operating system, but I don't give a shit. He is happy, I am happy.

He now uses his Mac for everything that makes him happy and uses the old windows system to run the boat.

The terrorists who monitor this board now know of two easy targets for hacking boat nav systems...
