I was reading up on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and I came across this:

that doesn't make it fake..
 
Teacher's always say that, because they don't want people to cite it as a source. Almost all of the time (especially if it's a big article), people check it regularily and it's factually correct. I use it as a building block for all my essays, assignments, etc.
 
i know it doesnt.. but the articles are opinions.. meaning they are not based on facts and if it's opinion, it could be fake
 
People have to cite their sources when they write those articles. Scroll down, and you'll see them.
 
You, me, umair, vcwannabe, and everyone else...we're all wikipedia.
 
Maybe we should make an article about JBB on Wikipedia.

That would be interesting.

This is the kind of crap that makes people pissed off with you all the time. That website has very good people writing for it that do a better job then most professionals that publish books you can pick up at your University. I've had to reply on something like this before that teachers do not like Wiki because it is free and provides the same information that you can find anywhere else on 90% of all subjects. If something on there isn't proofed it will be altered by the better members until proof is shown.

The head team would delete it immediately. JJB can only be linked to from the NBA or another type of basketball article.
 
The reason why teachers do not like Wikipedia is because it gives you a free-bee with web searching. All you have to do is go on Wikipedia and you find out pretty much anything you want.

They are based on facts. Where have you ever seen any opinions in a wikipedia article? It's not allowed
 
Guys dont get pissed at me.. I said before. My teacher told me that Wiki is based on opinions, and normal people like us go on there and post stuff. So i didnt know, I just got that from my teacher.

I dont know about M Two One, but I'm not getting pissed at you or anything. It's cool. Like I said, the only reason why teachers dont like Wikipedia is because it makes searching for stuff on the net way too easy. Usually they want you to google things up and more practice.

Bone Thugs are better than most rappers these days. The beats are great and the way they spit is awesome.

Their done man, they released a greatest hits album 2 years ago. You have to remember they started back in the early 90's when Eazy-E was still alive.
 
Bone Thugz are great. The greatest hits cd earned a bunch of spins on my stereo. Eternal was a good cd too.

E 1999 Eternal was great, but Creepin On Ah Come Up is still my favorite Bone Thugs album. I love the west coast feel to the album, the production is top notch. Foe Tha Love Of $ with Eazy-E is easily one of the best rap songs of all time.
 
I love Wikipedia, as long as I'm not trying to do actual research. And that quote to begin this thread is the exact reason why. Anyone who uses it as a reference is a moron, that's all I'm saying for this. Some of the professors at my college have actually put it in their syllabus that the use of Wikipedia is not allowed on papers and will not be counted as a source if used.

Nah, I'm not pissed at him. Anyway, actually the reason teachers hate the Wiki is because it takes away from their pay in books that the schools and colleges receive. Because of this, top school officials use their power to call out on the website to be an unreliable source and sometimes even a fake. My girlfriend is a teacher, so I have those facts directly from the schools. Though she doesn't hate Wiki.
 
I usually google or use yahoo to research, but I like to surf around Wikipedia to see what I can learn.
