There have been very, very successful sports books....John Wooden's is still selling today
It's probably because CJ wasn't our starting 2 guardWell, I think Portland would have about 5-6 wins this year without Damian Lillard, but I think Karl makes a valid point about Lillard trying to do too much on his own at times.
And I've defended Damian's defense, but these last two games without him we've held our opponent under 100 points. How much of that is Damian, I don't know, but we'd only done it 5 times prior this season.
ok....Hubie Brown's and Bill Walton's books sold a bunch....Hubie keeps reading his to me over, and over, and over whenever he broadcasts a gameThat's not a book, it's a basketball bible.
This is a great sports book that was a New York Times best seller:

Too bad he wasn't that upset when the Blazers were declining to last in the NBA in defense. So many people get so offended over someone else's opinion versus what is actually happening. Guess that is where we are as a society. I'm not saying Karl was right, but why is it such a big deal?

If we are talking best selling sports books (all time) "Finding The Winning Edge" by Bill Walsh and Brian Billick has got to be top 10 if not top 5.
I wish more people new about Terry Pluto's book "Loose Balls." Which is a comprehensive history of the ABA. That organization was haphazardly run by a bunch of maniacs and played by such. The story of Marvin Barnes is worth the price alone. I hope they turn it into a movie one day and not like that make-weight comedy, Semi Pro.
There was a good 30 For 30 on Marvin Barnes and the Spirits of St. Louis. If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.
Here's a pretty good list.

I would love to read Plimpton's book someday.
I've read it...good read...I liked a book I didn't see on the list about Rod Laver I read long ago...might be out of print now. I love the 920 921 section of the library...read a lot of biographies and autobiographies. One of my favorites was definitely Cinderella Man by Jeremey Schaap....later made into a movie by Russell Crowe....frickin' amazing true story...win the championship and pay the govt back every penny his family got from Welfare the next day...awesome sports storyHere's a pretty good list.

Dame has made improvements in his game this season...teardrop is better, gets to the line, assists up, turnovers down. Far outweighs the fact he's not Bruce Bowen on defense
I think he needs to be playing next to a Bruce Bowen but you're right...I'd love to get Patty Mills backI don't even need Bruce Bowen but to see how much effort Patty Mills put in the other night and how much he made shots difficult for Dame, that doesn't seem too much to expect.
