yep, it's true. I went to the doctor because I have these weird things known as tics. it turns out I have tourrettes, or something that will likely develop into it. they call them movement disorders or something like that. :Swoon:

<span style="font-family:Comic Sans Ms">Well, sucks for you..</span>

there not that bad. I have one twitch I do alot, but I don't have alot of different tics.and please people, don't assume I'm someone who just can't help but scream obscenities. That is actually extremely rare. All I do is twitch my neck, occasionally shake my arm, and tap my feet. I also have a few ocd qualities.

I know a guy with tourettes that swears randomly. one time I was talking to him about something random and he was dropping fucks and shits left and right. but you said movement disorders, and theres all kinds of tourettes. supposedly its not noticable to the person who has it unless its pointed out to them.

Did you actually go to a doctor and ask about your tics? What were the procedures for diagnosis?

I just did my presentation on Tourette's Syndrome in my health care class 2 weeks ago. Have you heard about the guy that rides motocross with Tourette's? He doesn't have it real bad and only really tics when he gets nervous. His name is Twitch. He was on True Life : I have Tourettes.

Don't worry Dogma, I hear having touretts is a big plus for baggin' women. :happy0144:

I hope your case isn't as bad as the people I saw on True Life. Random screams, spilling drinks on dates

it must suck.

yeah reppin, I went to a doctor today about. and it's really different than most think. Most people are able to suppress the tics over a long period of time. It's just that if I do suppress them, it builds up a bit.

no one mentioned Mr. Michael J. Fox yet? DarnThat sucks man, good luck.

One of the most loved people in the UK has tourettes....His name is Pete Bennett

Hopefully it isn't that bad. I empathize for you though, I know a lot of people with serious illnesses and I have to say you're luckier to have tourettes than something much more life-wrecking.

Oh, sorry about that. Not to be a dick, but aren't the two really similar?

Tourette's is a psychological thing. Your brain causes the "tics" as they are called. With Parkinson's, the movements are caused due to your nervous system breaking down. As you get older, it deteriorates more and more, until your system no longer communicates to your heart to keep beating, or your lungs to keep breathing. As far as I know, that doesn't happen with Tourette's.

Yeah she was nuts. I know she has/had tourette's and that can be a hard thing to deal with, but she was just being a total psycho :\

Yeah, I saw the True Life episode, too. Very bad syndrome. Keep your chin up, Dogma.
