I haven't said this in a while.....

Here in Seattle, I haven't seen one moment of Comcast Sportschannel in HD, in spite of me having Comcast as my cable provider and me paying for the HD package, the Sports Package, and the Extended Package (hehe), or whatever it's called, that lets me get CSN.

Seattle has to be a bigger market, and there's NOTHING on Comcast Sportschannel that has to do with Seattle. All of the ads are even Oregon-targeted. It's like the mirror reflection of FSN.

I'm not familiar with Comcast in Seattle, but here in Portland the HD channels are all in the 700's. 737 is where the HD CSN Blazer games are. When there isnt a Blazer game or another sports HD event on 737, the screen is black.

It's not Comcast's or KGW's fault the TB road games arent in HD. Blazer Broadcasting only broadcasts a couple of road games in HD.

Comcast is contracted with Blazer Broadcasting. Perhaps a little less money in rights and a little more money for mandatory equipment would have been a better business model?

That also doesn't explain why Comcast doesn't have FSN in HD while DirecTV does.

I understand that. I am not saying with 100% absolute certainty that there is no corresponding channel in Seattle like that, but I've looked for it repeatedly both in the channel guide and online and have met with no success.

I do believe that the Blazers said if there wasn't a deal by the end of this year... they would try to renegotiate or force Comcast somehow. No link... but that is what I recall. Well... it is nearing the end of the 2 years and I bet they do nothing. While I love the Blazers... the front office other than Prichard is weak.

The Blazers had a meeting for season ticket holders to discuss not having a deal made with satellite providers. I wasn't able to make it, but someone posted and said about what you said. I was happy to hear that though I wish they would do it sooner. I email my ticket rep and he said that wasn't true. He said the Blazers are very happy with Comcast. He said what was said at the meeting is if a deal wasn't done after 2 years the Blazers would 'talk' to Comcast about it. What BS! Talk to them? After two years? BS!

At any rate, don't expect any change after two years. I think that the Blazers figure by just putting it off they can weather the storm easier and it's working.

Do you get a DVR and free On Demand stuff with the Dish's?

Ya, have had DVR for a while, originally TIVO, but now Directv's own DVR. Fairly recently they got On Demand. I have such a slow connection that it takes a bit to download. I have DSL, but at about the slowest speed.

Only 8 more years of these threads. I guarantee that you or I will be the last men standing.

Most likely. The rest of us will be kicked back in our la-z-boys, watching the game on Comcast.

Really? The "rest of us" meaning those who literally can't get Comcast? Or the "rest of us" who have been screwed by Comcast in the past? Let me know, "Producer".

Talk about riding on coattails. lol

No, those who literally can't get comcast I feel bad for. That situation sucks.

Or the "rest of us" who have been screwed by Comcast in the past?

If you choose not to watch the games, whining about your choice doesn't really resonate with me.

No idea what you are talking about. Whose coattails?

The DVR from Directv is pretty slick. They've got all kinds of cool features which I seem to bump into all the time. Record shows from the net, stream shows on my dvr anywhere in the house across the network, etc. They actually take input from the users and implement features based on it. Check it out here:

Just got a friend in Beaverton to cancel their Comcast subscription yesterday. He had the full works too: Internet, Phone, and premium TV with HBO and (I think) Showtime. That brings my total up to over a dozen people that I've convinced to cancel their Comcast service :) Gonna keep at it too, it's fun! And I have many more that I plan on talking to soon. :)

I was really lobbying hard for my parents house in Oregon to NOT get comcast....they ended up doing so...boo...but just for internet...they forgot to filter the line though so we have free cable (until they go all digital)
