So I'm driving home from work, one block off Killingsworth and Albina (not sure the cross street) and I'm cruising along and do my typical left, right, left check at an intersection and a hipster bicyclist dude ran a stop sign. He had the stop on his side, my side was clear. He's lucky I was paying close attention as always and hit my breaks. He sees me, slams on his breaks and goes over his handlebars. It wasn't too bad, as he caught himself. I get out of my car to see if he was alright (which he was) and I had this shit eating grin on my face when I asked him if he was okay.

He didn't like that grin and started blaming me. I point to the stop sign that he had and he came unglued. Grabbed his bike lock and swung it at me, missing twice. I reared back and landed a decent one. Got back in my car and left. There was a lady walking her dog by when it happened and watched it all go down.

I'm sure the dude's fine. But what the fuck?!? These bicyclists need to get a fucking clue.

We should merge this with the "I just beat up a homeless man" thread.

Joking aside, you had every right to defend yourself. I bike, but I'm not a douche. There are dumb/terrible people in every walk of life. Glad everyone was ok, with only a little damage to an ego/face.

You should have stayed. The dipshit is going to call the cops and say you attacked him.

YOU ASS! That was you???

I drove off and was driving slowly looking in my rear view mirror and he got up and was fine. Just a little woozy or something.

What's the militant PDX bike blogger? All dipshit has to do is complain to that guy and if they have your plate number your life will be hell.

And if they find out you're a UPS driver there will be bicyclists coming out of the woodwork saying you've tried to run them down with your big brown truck.

I wouldn't. At this point the deed is done. I'd just hope he didn't get the plate number and let it go. The guy never made contact and it's his word against the bicyclist, but he DID hit him.

I'm pretty sure aggressors who know they're in the wrong don't usually think to get license plate numbers. It was completely his fault. 100%.

This is typical North Portland type stuff. Anybody who grew up around here can attest. Sometimes shit goes down and you can't back down.

I just wish these cyclist types get a fucking clue.

This is by PCC Cascade campus. I'm pretty sure the cops around there have enough problem stuff to worry about more than a biker getting a shiner. I won't lose sleep over this.

I yelled at a bicyclist for running a stop sign once. He pulled in front of my car forcing me to go 2 miles an hour while he yelled at me. I said "dude that's not smart, somebody could hit you" and he responds "are you going to hit me?" I was like "no dude, now get the fuck out of the road". There was a line of cars behind me and people started honking... Some bicyclists have their head so far up their asses that I'm amazed they can comfortably sit on a bike seat.

Good job not getting hit and defending yourself, nothing wrong with self defense, especially when dealing with an aggressive self centered bike douche. Then again the road belongs to him, so he might have "no MickZagger" signs posted tomorrow...
