I Know I've Been Relatively Cynical Regarding Oden, But..

Welcome to our community

Like I said, my "bashing" of TO is that he's a good player, but he just doesn't fit this team. I think he's not a high BBIQ player, and I have six years of evidence to back it up. He still barely knows the fundamentals of team defense and makes Zach Randolph look like John Stockton. Unfortunately for TO, we're developing a team of players with high BBIQ who pass and find the open man.

As for me being a coward, I cherish your opinion.

You are a coward, and your avatar makes fun of a child. This doesn't mean I consider you a "s****y" fan, though, but I guess you've made your case about me.

Somebody insinuated that the team had been less than upfront about this injury, yet the only quote I've seen is from Oden saying that he is setting his own return date.

This is my starting point. I'm sorry if I am wrong about your take because I have at least three discussions going on at one time.

No problem, I just didn't want my point to be discounted. I think a lot of us out there are frustrated with a lack of info on the injury, but realize it isn't Greg's fault and still very much believe in, and support him.

I've posted many times that I am frustrated that he isn't on the court, because he makes the team much better when he is.

Thats fine, although it has nothing to do with my point. For the 3rd time - I am saying that I think people should be careful to not take their frustrations concerning the lack of info on the injury onto Greg himself. It's not his job to report it.

He did report it though. That's why people are wondering. He said he's been cleared, and in his interview at All-Star weekend during the rookie game he said he would have played had it been a real game.

You and a few others are the people putting the "savior" tag on him, not anyone else.

Having you been living under a rock for the last two years?!?

Obtaining the number one pick in the draft at such small odds has been one of the most exciting moments in Blazer history. With the temptation of a dynamic scorer in KD the organization resisted the ultimate temptation and put their faith in a very rare big man with freakish agility. And why? Because G.O. has the ability to become the Key final piece in our growth into becoming a steady contender. If 90% of the people believe he can be that piece than I would consider that "everyone"

So because he said that we should lump all our feelings regarding the poor injury coverage onto Greg? Obviously he CAN play on it - he came back in the same game he injured it in. That doesn't mean he SHOULD play on it. Either way, it is frustrating to not know the details - but for the 4th time: not knowing the details is not something that should be blamed on Greg.

I think we should talk about this some other time when you have less conversations going on so you can understand. I've got to get some sleep so I'll talk to you later.

Those are your expectations, though. I also feel he can be that piece if he is the guy that I thought the Blazers drafted, but that doesn't mean he isn't above being questioned after so many injuries.

I loved Chris Farley. To me, it's not a slam at the girl; it's celebrating her Farleyness.

ABM what is your problem with GO? You are becoming quite Mixum-like- and after a great great win by the Blazers. Please consider chilling.

Your fucking bitching and moaning about a guy who has had a number of setbacks and hasn't really gotten his career started. He hasn't even played himself into NBA shape and he leads all rookies in double doubles.

Loose material acts differently in different joints in different people. Sometimes it's absorbed by the body, other times it floats harmlessly and other times it causes irritation.

I'm a Blazer fan. I'm sticking by GO. And fuck the lot of you that toss him overboard by trying to read tea leaves. None of us has any idea what's going on with his knee or what's going on in his head
.
Word! I am not going to lie, I am pretty upset with the injuries, but you can't blame Greg from them. Like I said in another post, I am pretty close to stop depending on him to be a big part of our big 3 until he can stay on the court (more for my state of mind than anything). But he is a Blazer, and as long as you rock that jersey, I'll stick by GO. The frustrating and encouraging part is, if he can keep playing healthy, he will be a beast.

Totally chilled here. Didn't you see my snow pictures? :)

I certainly don't expect to hear every jot and tittle of Oden's life. However, I had come to question that there may, may be a reluctance on the the organization's part to share (much anticipated, mind you) updates regarding Oden's recovery? :dunno: That said, it was nice to see something from Nate last night. EDIT: OK, now ther's this, as well....

That, coupled with what I had read about it all being up to Greg, coupled with Nate pulling him from practice, coupled with seemingly more and more random analysis regarding how the Blazers just may have screwed up drafting Oden over Durant (BTW, I TOTALLY rebuke such thoughts or suggestions)......................all that. It just became super frustrating to me, you know? After reading the many comments in here, though, I've decided it's a personal thing. It's not that I'm not chilling as much as I've probably become a bit hasty in my suppositions. It's all good, though. I promise.

That said, you're certainly right about another thing: That was a GREAT win last night!! Just wish I could have seen it. Soon enough, though, as we'll be headed back home to Oregon. :pimp:

Perhaps I might even have the opportunity to buy you a beer someday.

....something seems to be very wrong here. Why isn't the organization relating anything? Where are the Quick or Canzano reports? Something.

I really do wish Greg well. It's just very, very frustrating to see him miss game after game with nary a word..................from anyone.

What is so hard to understand about day to day?

LOTS of NBA players go through this type of situation.

No Doctor in the world can predict what the swelling and/or pain will be tommorrow, let alone several days ahead.

Your post reminds me of people who complain that the weatherman can tell them what will happen two days from now.

Like the weather, certain types of injuries are immune to accurate forcasts.

I responded in a post rather than via PM as I don't wish to write the same thing twice. And all I'm accusing you of is being a shitty fan. It's my opinion; feel free to disagree.

Everything is a personal attack when you're arguing with papag.
