Everyone knows the Blazers are a mediocre team, what we expect, or at the least would like is that are trying to get better. At least a few of us feel, that NO in particular is too ok with the status quo, and doing the same thing year after year. If he wasn't he wouldn't always shoot down anyone who dares say there should be a change.
Maybe you should fix your expectations, since apparently all you're looking for is mediocre basketball every year. I haven't seen a single poster say the Blazers should beat GS this year, or that we should've beat the Pelicans, but they really weren't even competitive for most of that series, they made some runs to make the games appear close, but after game 1 it never felt like they were gonna win a single game.
I said, that I let the GS series' slide because of how good they were, but I cited them because they still count don't they? The last 3 seasons have felt pretty much the same, but I notice you haven't fought that point, you just like to repeat yourself about how pleased you are that you expect mediocrity and got what you were looking for.
Do you think NO is the guy who's going to make the Blazers a contender someday? They were much closer to the 5-6 seed then they were the 2nd round of the playoffs. Seeing as how they were only a game up, and they were 4 wins away from the second round.
I don't really have to fix my expectations. I'm pretty spot on with my expectations of
THIS ROSTER.
I looked at the team as a whole, saw what they did when they didn't have guys going in and out of the lineup. Only to make a correct prediction on their HCA seed.
Simply because it was obvious to anyone not wearing blinders like
@HCP .
Unless you were from Cali or Texas, no team was better than the other middle of the pack WC teams.
Meanwhile, if you were to use the search function on this forum.
The same people calling for change and saying the team has peaked after the 17-18 season.
Were the same people calling for change and saying the team has peaked after the 16-17 season.
You then go onto put words in my mouth saying I'm okay with mediocrity.
GTFO with that bullshit.
I've said multiple times that I would've fired Stotts after this series.
If I was confident I could find a replacement for him who wouldn't go into a series with the game plan of.
Run 9 billion P&R's against the best P&R defense in the league hoping their best player will tire in the 4th quarter and be unable to make plays.
As far as NO is concerned, if I had the option. He would've been gone before the start of this year.
I've also said that multiple times.
People need to stop using the tired argument of Portland's record.
With the Spurs not having Leonard, Portland took advantage and gave themselfs room to have a bad streak.
Why did that bad streak happen? Injuries to key pieces players were in and out of the lineup.
It's not a coincidence that Portland peaked when they got production from the Forward spots.
When that stopped due to injury, and Aminu going through one of his usual poor shooting stretches. Portland started losing games.
Just like OKC, Utah, NO, & Minn.
Portland isn't good enough to have an injury to a rotational player, yet still keep the wins coming.
Middle of the pack teams.
Why is this so hard to understand?
