Not really, but still, I need help guys

I just got on a couple of minutes ago on my laptop, and my mouse stopped working. I looked at the options and everything, and the mouse is enable. The "mouse" button on my laptop is turned on too, but my mouse won't work. I already turned off my computer, and unplugged my mouse from the laptop, no success. So now I'm stuck with using the stupid finger pad thing, and I hate it. Can someone help?

New mouse is $14 and up.

Check the batteries in the mouse?

How do you check batteries?

My mouse has this red glowing thing on the bottom, and it still lights up just the same. Also, it was working like a couple of minutes ago too. It's not dirty either, or at least I don't think it is...

SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE THIS FINGER PAD THING IS KILLING ME!!!!!!! I CAN'T STAND IT!!!!!!!!

Lame. I was in a life threatening situation on this site only a couple of months ago. This is lame.

Seriously though this is pissing me off

I move my finger one way, and the pointer goes random directions. I can't even control it sometimes, it just moves wherever it wants to. SOMEONE HELP

We fix that problem at work by slamming the mouse against the table.

First, you can reset all devices in the mouse control panel. Doesn't work, then download the driver for the mouse and reinstall it - or take it off the cd, if you have it.

reformatting your laptop should do the trick.. sure you lose all of your files and installed programs, but hey it'll work

Since you've rebooted and checked the settings, if you have access to another computer, plug the mouse into it and see if works on that computer.
Otherwise, bring your laptop to best buy, circuit city and see if you can test a mouse out there if it works buy it.

If anything else starts to fail on your laptop.. virus scan

Happened to mine aswell. Assuming it's wired mine was the wire was frayed because of the angle i sit at my Computer. All i did was strip back the plastic tubing covering the wire. Put the copper threads in place and seal it with some electrical tape. I got another one the next week but it lasted till then.

The problem's not his mouse, it's his system. That's what he should bang on the table.

Usually it's an operator error, change the operator.. or in this case he should slam his head against the table

I googled and found this "USB Mouse Plug Adjustment Tool"

Re-install it? My mouse was being retarded a while ago and that's what I tried. And it worked.

lol do simple things.

plug and unplug mouse
plug mouse into different usb port
try your mouse on a different computer to check if it works.
go to control panel, and hardware area and enable and disable the mouse.
Reset laptop with mouse plugged in
