Not a movie, but the Spanish League website is showing entire "classic" games, which right now is a Baby Ricky Rubio vs. Young Marc Gasol.

Whiplash isn't a sports movie in that it's about drumming, but damned if it's not a great sports movie. It's about a teacher (coach) who pushes the boundaries to try to get perfection out of his student (athlete), preparation for big events (games) and what happens when you take it too far.

"Whiplash" made me then think of "Whip it"--which is (I believe) a roller derby movie. I think that counts.

Turns out Sydney pulled out of the series, and refused all suggested options of completing the series. Perth was willing to play, and is now demanding they be name champions.

On another note, the Australian Football League will announce today whether their season will start tomorrow as scheduled. So there may still be some sport on.

There's a great little film I saw recently where a man must decide if he wants to continue on with his passion for running, or let his unsupportive family and community drag him down.
