I Need To Stop Trying To Help Y'all Gain Perspective

Probably, but sometimes a prosecutor has to settle for what he or she can actually get rather than blowing the case entirely by trying for the maximum.

I'm so sick of being given "reasons" as to why shit happens. Frankly I'm not sure why you feel you needed to explain that to me.

My statement still holds true that it's a shameful, travesty of justice.

Not sure this was mentioned here yet, but it was a black cop that shot Scott.

And just like the numbers show, black on black crime is out of control in this country.

Lots of things are a shameful travesty of justice. As I'm sure you've figured out by now, life ain't fair.

Why did I feel the need to comment what I did? I thought we were having a conversation. Why did you feel the need to point out it was a shameful travesty of justice? Sometimes you give the impression that you think that you're the only one with a moral compass or, at least, that yours works better than the rest of ours.

You seem to see the world in absolutes. I function more in grays. There's usually more than one side to be seen in a situation. Based on the one event of sexual assault, what would be justice for this guy? 20 years in prison with a 300 lb. cell mate who makes him his bitch? Do you look at the rest of the guy's life in making the call? Do you consider what the best conviction is that you can reasonably obtain, or is it a case where only the fullest punishment allowed by law will satisfy you? Just asking. Feel free to ignore my post if you'd prefer.

1. Me either, but you can do stupid shit in the smartest way possible as in not having a pregnant woman in line of fire.
2. I couldn't even tell if they were in the same county. You try something like this in AZ in some county I never heard of or Maricopa county and I'd expect differences, I could be completely wrong on the outcome. If the law states that people can walk their pet Lions around on a leash then I expect cops to just keep on driving by but we all know they bend the rules every day.
3. Fuck yeah he was scared. The first cop didn't seem scared at all but he also seemed like a reasonable guy, he also just struck me as a guy who never gets scared. He knew he was asking them for things that they legally don't have to do but he wasn't going to be a dick about it.

As for a Bachelor's degree.......
Nope, making people get a degree to become a cop just makes it more likely that weirdos with power issues are going to be the only ones left. Who wants to go to school for years to work a dangerous job?
They need real personality testing and not some bullshit test they can pass by knowing what the testing is designed to produce.

That asshole Baltimore cop screaming at the skateboard dummies a few years ago shouldn't have passed the first day.

I fucking HHHHAAAAATTTTEEEE SKATERS and this is completely out of line.

That dude should've gotten canned.

Let's say the guy had a gun like they say he did (I don't believe it). That's not illegal though. Neither is it punishable by death. Unless...

I've seen far too many videos like this to chalk it up to just saying it depends on the area.

Isn't this guy on KATU currently?

I think this quote from LeBron James throws a bit of perspective about what dviss1 has been trying to say:

"For me, my personal feelings is that I got a 12-year-old son, a 9-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter, and I look at my son being four years removed from driving his own car and being able to leave the house on his own, and it's a scary thought right now to think if my son gets pulled over," James said. "You tell your kids if you just apply [the lessons you teach them] and if you just listen to the police that they will be respectful and it will work itself out. And you see these videos that continue to come out, and it's a scary-ass situation that if my son calls me and says that he's been pulled over that I'm not that confident that things are going to go well and my son is going to return home. And my son just started the sixth grade."

I never had to think those thoughts about my kids, which I suppose is part of what is referred to as white privilege. It would be a much better world if nobody had to think those thoughts.

This makes me sssssssooooooooooooooooooo angry. I mean, I just can't believe it. I should try to be considerate with what I'm about to say because I don't want to offend anyone.

Ahhhh, fuck it. Here goes.

WHY in the FUCK would you buy a cake for your father's retirement at fucking WALMART?????????

Why not just buy some twinkies and draw a blue line on them with a bic pen for fucks sake? Make a fucking Betty Crocker Mix if you're that cheap. At least it will be edible.

How did I miss this one, happened not too long ago..........It must have been during the time when I wouldn't read certain websites or watch youtube videos that weren't about puppies or movie trailers, I avoided those things because it made me angry.

So you agree that profiling exists and areas are policed differently depending on the demographics of said area....

Must be a privilege to live in West Linn.

84% of white murders are done by white people but you never hear the term "white on white crime". Stop comparing apples to oranges.

I haven't been pulled over by them once, I drive like a 60 year old woman so I don't know what to tell you. Honestly I don't see them pull too many people over just driving around they usually set up stings at places people always break the law. The Walmart on Sunset is a bitch to get to and people do U turns there all day to get to the gas station on the corner but it is clearly marked no U turns so they just sit there and shoot fish in a barrel.

The Mexican guy with the baby is INSTANTLY recognized to not fit the description and they continue to fuck with him. No, sorry Senor your'e free to go.

Wal-Marts get more police calls than any other location in the US.

I read something about that recently. Walmart pretty much passes the cost of security off to the police or something like that. I'd been in that Walmart a thousand times (until we finally got a Winco yay!) and I don't think I ever saw any police action there. The one on Nellis where I used to live is the one that the cop killers ended up a few years ago. I was already long gone from that shithole neighborhood thank jeeesus.

Hm...did you try to do a multi-quote here, and wrongly attributed your comment to mine?

Because I'm fairly certain my posting history, and my comment here was said in a tone that indicated I already agreed with you, or that I don't live in West Linn.

Your response seems so out of left field here.
