I'm predicting 50 wins, though I think we'll finish a lot faster than we start so we might win more than that. A lot depending on Oden's health.

What do you think?

50-16?

How about 40.

Our bench assuming Roy is waived will be batum, smith, babbitt, and johnson. That's assuming no injuries.

Call me crazy but 35 wins seems like a stretch with current roster. Every team has injuries.

50 wins? Oden won't even be playing until only he knows, so if he's the key to 50 wins, I just don't see it.

Hope you're right, though!

Well I might have been a wee bit optimistic. :)

I think mentally I was still thinking a 82 game schedule, but I'm going to stick with it! When I'm right I expect you all to bow down to me!:prince:

Mr. Marc Stein some what agrees with Carlto.

Marc Stein of ESPN.com kicked off this most recent, intensifying round of Amnesty Clause chatter last night.

A few notes: If Roy is waived, Portland would be left with seven players on the roster -- including Earl Barron -- who have played more than 82 NBA games.

Their projected bench rotation would be: Nicolas Batum, whoever they sign with the Mid-Level Exception, Nolan Smith, Chris Johnson and... stop me when this gets too painful.

We don't need no friggin bench!

So we changed the game to predicting the totals of two years at once?

We'll get 50 wins. Only 34 of them will be during the regular season, however.

barfo

hmm in a shortened season how many wins for playoffs?

40 wins in the West will get you the 8th spot!

maybe someday I will be just as big of a name as you around these parts HCP!

^ I did use brother and son in there same sentence huh? Oops.

^ What's sad is, I used to have to GOOGLE what that means...... now I know!

yep he got me good. i better start stepping up my game!

oh and hcp it means owned! ;)

I don’t see Portland having any realistic chance in the West. Brandon Roy is clearly done and LaMarcus Aldridge while VERY good is just not quite enough, unless Oden comes out of nowhere and is healthy and productive like he was for an entire month last season. Even with a healthy Oden and ageless Camby, it will be very difficult for Portland to be much more than just another 50 win team, and even that might be pushing it.

With Roy and IF they signed Landry, this team would still be very questionable to win 50 games.

Without either, I would think lotto. I realize this will not be a popular opinion after reading numerous posts the last few days.

Nate always gets this team to play hard in the regular season, so we will most likely sneak in to the playoffs and get our asses handed to us in the playoffs where he is constantly out coached. With this upcoming draft being potentially stuffed to the rim with talent at the top, it would probably make us better in the long run to sacrifice Roy, trade Camby and head towards the lotto to re-tool. Adding one of the incoming studs might replace the star that had his knees turn on him.Literally the only way Portland can compete is through the draft. Even looking back through franchise history tells us that. Other than Whitsitt's reign of terror in the early 90's our best teams have been primarily built through the draft, and even those Jail Blazer teams back then had Sabonis on them, who while not their best player, was probably their most important.

I think the single biggest factor for the win column this season is Raymond Felton. If he can integrate well and get this team away from isolation offense, then I like our chances for 43 wins. If he's stuck in stand around "Nateball" then I have a feeling it's a 30-35 win season.
