Not that it matters here per say but BF has a long history of personal attacks and trolling on the former Blazer forum Iamatrailblazerfan. While MM took things a little to far there is quite a history from BF to consider as well.

Additionally if Zags knew about MM kids and wrote that then he should be banned, it was completely off topic, a personal attack and blatant trolling made even worse by MM's suspension knowing he cannot retort.

No, MM was not right. 100% not right. You're new here and maybe not clear on how we do things here. Personal insults are not allowed. Doesn't matter if someone insults you first. No personal insults. It's very simple, attack the post, not the poster. That means if you don't like what someone said, tell them that.

Acceptable - "Your post is stupid."
Not acceptable - "You're stupid."

Attacking someone's post invites them to defend their opinion. Starts debates and conversations. Debates and conversations are what makes forums fun.

Attacking or personally insulting someone only causes them to insult you back. All debate and conversation ends and all you're left with is post after post of BS that no one wants to read. Also it causes never ending butt hurt between you and the person you were trading insults with. "Remember when you disagreed with my post about the salary cap in 2006?" is never said because it's not that big of a deal. "You called me a mother fucker 10 years ago and I've hated you ever since!" are the types of things that people don't forget when it comes to personal insults.

This has been explained to MM numerous times, I'm not sure if it's been explained to you. MM's post was wrong because it was a personal attack.

Now, as far as who did what or said what on a different forum. I don't really care. To be honest I was a complete asshole when I posted on Oregonlive. Now I'm only an asshole part of the time. See, people can change. I don't really care what a person did on a different forum. They're here and we do things a little differently.

The quote got messed up it came from Roytoy not from me I already agreed that MM was out of line for him comments.

I recognize that this is a different forum and people can change this is just one example of someone not changing and reducing the quality of another site. Iamatrailblazerfan is pretty much dead and Oregon live sucks I do not know about you but I would rather not have this site become either one of those.
 
I already chimed in but I will say that BF dishes out as much or more then she takes. Obviously (at least it was to me) MM was over the line, as was Zags but I agree with Nate that women should not be judged differently. If BF goes down the same path (and she started to) as some other posters then there should be swift action.

Love what BF brings when she sticks to bball. She doesn't do that all the time though.

OT. PS to call the shot Batum would have needed to raise him arms before Lillard released the ball otherwise baseball fans call the shot all the time because they stand up and cheer a home run before it leaves the park. SlyPokerDog is bunnies.

It is amusing to me that my 1 innocuous post in 9 pages, of which several post are passive aggressive insults directed at me, could draw so much animosity from an individual.


Perhaps have someone in your house hold that can read the quote below, do so out loud to you, and explain it in greater detail what it means.

My question with regards to this thread: Are you suspending him from a balcony by his ankles or above a table with a cape, wand and top hat? I find the ankles from the balcony ultimately more effective...(cough)

I think we as mods should take insults and problems on a case by case basis and use our best judgement as to what is the appropriate action to take. Using some kind of check list moderation policy wouldn't work.

So why was the punishment different? Because Sly perceived MM's attack to be worse, but why was it worse? Calling someone a whore is really no different than calling someone an asshole. Unless she is, in fact, a whore.... it should be no different than any other generic insult. That's a personal insult. Not the worst I've seen and not the most direct but you're pretty much calling him dumb. Not acceptable.

The rest of it I suggest you just ignore him. Continuing to argue with him is only going to end up with one or both of you being suspended or banned. You both seem like nice people but when I suspend or ban someone they tend not to like me anymore. I'm running out of people that like me on here and I don't want to add either of you to that list. For the sake of our burgeoning friendships please STOP FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER!
