I think war with Iran is imminent

With the capture of the British sailors in the Persian gulf by Iran, and the fact that the Ship in question was in Iraqi waters according to the GPS locator. I think this is going to be the straw which breaks the camels back and leads to war with Iran. It's no secret that Bush and Ahmadinjad don't like each other, the US wants Iran to caese its Nuclear weapons program and Iran is basically telling the US, and the rest of the world to F*ck off. I think the Brits are going to be the ones who actually start this conflict, they'll likely send in a special ops mission to liberate their POWs, and bring them back. Iran will of corse see this as a violation of their sovergnty and will likely retaliate. their most likely to retailiate against Bush postions in Iraq. once that happens Brittian will ask it's allies for help, and the US will of corse oblige. The US has likely been sending spy planes over Iran for the past 4 or 5 years. so it's likely that US intel knows exactly were Iranian armorments are located, and will immidiatly stike those installations. next the US will likely hit the Iranian facilities for their Nuclear weapons program. I doubt we will see much in the way of a US lead invasion, I think the Brits will do that, with help from their commonwealths, and other UN forces. I this this will also cause huge problems within Iraq for the US, so much so that the US would likely have to impose marshall law and kill anyone who doesn't obey. Not only would the US have to deal with the million or so displaced Iraqis who are casuing problems, but the influx of Iranians fleeing the war would also increase in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I also think these events will lead to congress telling the Military to get out. The deaths from a third war in 7 years, combined with massacres in Iraq and the total collapse of society there will leave congress with really no option but to with draw. What does everyone else think?

So much is happening over the last week in that end of the world. -Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah demands America end it's illegal occupation of Iraq and stop uprooting Baathistsm among other things. Probably, he's upset that Shiite-led Iraq will likely enhance Iran's influence. Most 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, right? Our biggest middle-eastern ally.-Halliburton surprised the world weeks ago when it promised to pull out of business with Iran, and then turns around and signs a deal to oversea Tehran's natural gas fields.-Iran apparently loses it's damn mind and kidnaps British soldiers and the two previous stories slide quietly away.-Nancy Pelosi goes to Syria, backhanding the White House rebuke for doing so.-I'm not up on Afghanistan, but except for south of Iraq, that's inside outside and all around.All the connections. It has a pro-wrestling vibe to it. I wouldn't swear there was a great deal of shammery going on amidst this madness. But I wouldn't rule it out neither. The sailors will be returned and Iran will chill. Now that they have Halliburton locked up, I'm sure they are our new biggest allies in the region.

They purify alot of the water that the U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are drinking. They house several military posts, the people quite like Americans in Kuwait, and we get alot oil from Kuwait. We work well with them, and I believe they are the biggest of allies in the Middle Eastern region.Onto this growing problem with Iran, I think the house and senate are realising that this may be an upcoming war if the British feel to pursue it. That is why I believe they have started trying to pull the troops out of Iraq, so that we can have the assets to go to war with Iran. Right now Military units are stretched thin, with the war in both Iraq and Afghanistan. If the British decide to pursue this war, America almost has to go. It would be really crappy of America not to jump in, considering all that the British have done with us. They have been to almost every war we have been to since World War 2 almost, especially both times in Iraq, Korea, and here in Afghanistan.

I went and double-checked. There are only 2, maybe 2 and a half million Kuwaitis; it's basically a staging dune for forward attacks. The money, oil, influence, muscle, and respectability make Saudi Arabia numero uno. Plus the royal family's connection to the Bush family. And there are military personnel and bases there too. Americans are flying 100 sorties over that country a day right now. Thousands of soldiers have been recently redeployed from two different provinces.

They do way more for us than Saudi Arabia does, we don't stage any type of movement into Iraq or Afghanistan from Saudi Arabia. Those posts in Saudi are pretty much just for intel.

I'm more a little more concerned with the concerns in the title of this thread.I really feel that Iran has waaay too much to lose in a situation like this if they're not careful. They are emboldened by our failures in Iraq and by the impatience that's starting to choke the U.S. war effort with steel gloves.I think they're just beating their chests and slapping the Coaltion of the Willing upside the head a little for regional prestige.

Kuwait does more for the US because they feel indebted to the US for liberating them from the Iraqi invasion which lead to Desert Storm. Saudi Arabia is only our ally because they have oil, and we need oil. Saudi Arabia for the most part could care less what the US is doing and for the most part they do help the US, such as their co-operating during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The reason the Saudis are getting annoyed with the US is because their king is under pressure from his subjects who don't want Iraqs problems spilling over the border into their country. also, from a tactical and strategic stand point, Saudi Arabia is our number one Arab ally. They have a lot of land which they allow the US to keep its forces realitivly safe during any mideast conflict. also, again there is the oil.

Those Brit's weren't doing anything that justified kidnapping, I'd love to give it to Iran's leadership militarily but given what's currently going on I just think this whole thing could spiral out of control. Iran didn't have to do this but they seized this opportunity. Khamenei and Ahmadinejad make me puke. They are no different than those Hamas rats that kidnapped/killed those Israeli soldiers over the summer....they picked the fight, they will get one. Ugh, this could be a big time disaster. The sad thing is, if a war starts over this, the United States will be blamed for it.

This has happened before to an English RAF navigator he was held hostage for 6 months before they finnaly decided to let him go and the goverment didn't do anything about it and they won't here neither. It's simple for us, it's not a military situation anymore it's a political situation.

The world economy is so strong and intertwined that I could not see a world war resulting over a middleeastern issue....The WW3 thing is just a stupid media phrase thats thrown out.

I just wanted to point out something that my dad showed me and I thought it was pretty funny. Recently Ahmadinejad was quoted saying something like they would "cut the hand" of anyone who invaded. And reading through the whole article it seemed like they were saying he would literally do that, but translated it's a saying in Farsi that means to keep them out or something like that.
