I thought the Portland Timbers were going to have a section on the main Blazer page?

Like the ducks, and this OT forum has....I remember that being said when they first made the timbers forum...what gives?

Ehizzy.. I think we need to host Sly for one game this season. Smack dab in the Timbers Army... well not right in the middle.. more on the outskirts os 105 like where I normally sit/stand.

I did see Pele and the NY Cosmos play the Timbers when I was a kid. I think I read somewhere that was Pele's last professional soccer game. SlyPokerDog 1, Pele 0!

Pele's last professional league match was "Soccer Bowl 76' or 77' " it was against Seattle at Civic Stadium. I know he played at least one exhibition match after that though.

I think you're right. I used to think that Soccer Bowl at Civic was his last game until Bickle corrected me On NCAA Football 2004 I used to use Portland St. in my dynasty and the announcer used to say "PGE Park, where the greatest soccer player of all time played his last game."

I'm super pumped for the season! Haven't received my season tix yet. Seems like they're running late. Wheels? You got any info on delivery of season tix?

no sir. Word is we should get our season Book along with the perks (Transportation and stuff) first week of April... Seriously I'm going crazy too though! Cant wait for Saturday to watch on TV. But april 14th cant get here soon enough! They seem to do things last second though (i.e. the season ticket holder presale yesterday and the link not going out till less than an hour before the sale)

I agree I am very active on the Timbers section here on S2. I like to post links, quotes and stat information.
I think HCP, Wheels and others have seen my posts there on the timber section. We just don't get enough traffic or opinion there yet.

I assume you mean the Brian Umony... his contract is currently owned by another team... but alot of times when a player wont get much playing time to develop, they loan him out to another team where he would play. I think with this loan deal of Umony, the Timbers have a clause that will allow them to purchase his contract after this year as well. If they like what they see from him this year. Purchasing his contract would get his old team a transfer fee I think. Money trades hand kinda like player trades in the NBA... you very rarely see player for player deals. Its usually money going to one team for a player, and that team can use the money to purchase a player and so on.
