Ideal PG for...

Who's the ideal PG to pair with Roy? We all know that Roy is the starting SG (on paper) but really handles the ball as much as any starting PG in the league.

IMO, the PG should be able to shoot, stay in front of his man, run the offense when needed to.

Miller should be the starter, he's short term anyways, but here's my pick for the long-term answer:

DJ Augustin.

Last season he shot 44% from three and 42% from the field. TJ Ford with a jumper.

I like Augustin a lot. I know he's probably going to get knocked because of his height and the fact that he'd have a tough time defending point guards who could shoot over the top of him, but he can create, he can shoot and he's a helluva player.

The real question remains of whether or not Charlotte would have any interest in any of our guys ... somehow I guess not. It seems like they re committed to him for the long term especially because Felton took the one year qualifying offer and will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

If not Augustin, I'd like to see them try to get Chalmers, he plays defense, he can hit an outside shot and he could have a lot of promise.

But I'd still rather target Augustin. The Bobcats are a mess and we have a lot of young player we could throw at them in a consolidating move.

I agree. If we're on the subject of swooping in to get Augustin, would we also be interested in trying to prise away Wallace too? I'd make a concerted effort to do something like the following before the trade deadline:

The ideal PG for Roy? Wouldn't it be better to get the ideal PG for the Blazers? And didn't we have this discussion ad nauseum? I think the conclusion was Kirk Hinrich (i.e., Blake + better D).

Augustin is actually smaller than Patty Mills. And the Bobcats are obviously committed to Augustin over Felton, or they would have signed Felton for more than one year.

If we're dreaming, let's dream big.

Just about the ideal PG for Roy is already on our roster
Enough with Blakey already.
Right now we have a player on our bench that would thrive next to Roy.
Roy would also thrive next to him.
Youthful combo guards can do well. Look at how well Westbrook is playing.
Defensively we would improve as well. If Nothing else out bigs might stand a chance.

Blakey sucks and Roy seems to have a mental block playing with Miller.
All Nate has to do is give the kid on our bench a chance with consistant minutes.
Yesterday during the game the Rocket announcers even thought he should be playing.
Letting Blake continue to play goes against what Nate supposedly stands for.
Each year Nate says "the players will decide who plays"
Subsequently, he always plays his "pets" instead of the players that earned time in camp.
Sliding our combo guard off the bench and into a starting role would be better for the team.

Could Bayless be that guy?

His shot has looked better this year, he doesn't always need the ball, probably shouldn't be the main guy setting up the offense, and is quick and strong enough to stay in front of his man.

I know he makes some dumb turnovers and ticky tack fouls, but I still have faith that he could turn into the right player to pair up with Brandon.
