How many female coaches are head coaches of Men's NCAA Basketball?

And if they are anything like the female refs in the league........holy shit, they have all been criminally bad.

10s of thousands of people qualified to become NBA head coaches - 1 or 2 % of them are women.

Within the last day or so, there was a report that Becky Hammon turned down the head coaching job at Florida.

Plus, she is not hard to look at.

There are so many male coaches that don't get the chance in the NBA because of the trend to hire either re-treads, or ex-players who have no prior coaching experience. Hard to believe many women will get the chance over them. I would not be surprised to see one getting the chance to make history, but shouldn't they hire a gay head coach first? Adam should not exclude them either if he wants to make a statement.
How do you know there haven't been gay coaches? I think Calipari is gay

Hammond will probably be a great coach. Learning from the best

Yep, I'll be surprised if she's not the first female head coach in the NBA. Imminently qualified and well respected by her peers. Many of Pop's other assistants have gone on to be head coaches in the NBA. I have lost track of the total, but if it's not at least 10, it has to be close. No reason to think Hammon can't make the jump. When it comes to coaching it's what's in your head that matters, not what's in your pants.

BNM

Hammon dated (fucked) one of the Spur players before she was hired to coach him. I linked the article here when she was hired, but I guess that only matters for men coaches in the WNBA.

There's some ignorant ass comments in this thread...

So I guess women shouldn't be Judges, Doctors, or CEOs either since men don't like to be ordered around by women..

I think most of them are jokes man. Lighten up. :)

Also you never answered me. I am genuinely curious as to how you know slow your role is a black slang invention?

Yep. Him too.

I doubt it. As someone that grew up in the same neighborhood as Walton and seen him out on the town numerous times back in the day, I doubt that. Maybe he's a good actor but yeah, I doubt that.

What a load of shit this is. Never mind that she's lesbian.

And where's all the Native American coaches at, Adam Silver is racist!
I wanna be the first 40 plus year old 300 plus pound Olympics woman gymnast.

Seriously though, I'd trade Stotts for Becky Hammon right now and I don't know anything about her.

If I were a woman I'd be offended. All jokes aren't funny. Also, the fact that SYR is in the urban dictionary is enough.

The Urban dictionary is a black slang dictionary? I'm honestly asking as Im ignorant.

As far as the jokes, everyone's sense of humor is different, and its been pointed out to me many times in the past that this is a no holds barred forum.

If we can make jokes about the halocaust, we can make jokes about anything. Some people wont think it funny, some will. To each their own.

I wonder how the young NBA players feel about that? I would bet they'd be cool with it. First off millennials seem more accepting to equality (good job millennials). Secondly, I know 57% of single patent homes in the US are black, and 83% of those are women. I would assume that young black males would probably have a shit ton of respect for a woman coach. Much moreso than say....20-30 years ago.

I had to work for a woman in the municipal job I had before I retired. It was alright for awhile then she turned on me by some internal personality disorder and threw me under the bus. I could not easily explain her condition due to the gender crap. I would always rather work for a man because you can always call a spade a spade. I can't see pro basketball players deal with relationships, feelings and talking about the same thing for over 15 minutes.
