If Alex Rodriguez refuses deal from MLB

Surely nobody wants to lose that amount of money without a fight. That being said MLB looks like they have enough evidence to absolutely bury him.

I just want this story to be over already... I want him out of the Yankees minds and books... That being said, I don't see A-Rod going quietly... the rest of this season and all of next season would be a start, but I would rather the lifetime ban so he can just be gone

My guess is Alex is so stubborn that no matter how much evidence they have on him he will appeal and fight until the bitter end and then play this year until his appeal is heard. I just don't want to see him play again with the Yankees.

how long would it take to get an appeal heard? I also wonder how the MLBPA has saying they won't stand behind the players who are linked to PEDs will affect the status of the appeal...

I hope if there is an appeal they hear it right away so he can't play in any games. All he would be is a huge distraction. Even more than he is now.

I agree completely hence why I asked... normally while players are waiting for appeals to be heard they continue playing which is why I was hoping what you were hoping... that it happens right away... How long does a normal appeal process take?

If he appeals I doubt anything happens this season. He has 100 lawyers who will drag it out as long as possible.

...other than offering advice, his lawyers don't really carry that much weight, do they? ... Baseball being a separate entity, I believe they govern themselves and if that's the case, this would be between MLB and MLBPA. ???

If he refuses the deal & ends up getting back on the field, I think its then up to the fans in every ballpark he plays in to let him know what they think.

I would think you are right... but I'm sure the lawyers will still be involved some how...

Yes, but you would assume an appeal would end up before an arbitrator.

Hopefully Arod takes the deal and we avoid more nonsense.

Not saying it will... but is it possible or even probable that A-Rod will fight the suspension, lose, and then take MLB to court to have it overturned? the lawyers would definitely come in handy there...

... I don't think he can do that...as far as I know, once an arbitrator rules one way or another, that's pretty much it.

ah... I know it hasn't been done yet... just wasn't sure if it could be done...

...to be honest, I'm not 100% sure either but I think that's the reasoning behind using an arbitrator instead of the courts.

gotcha... I would hate to see it end up in courts (if that were a possibility)... either way, I just want this to be over...

...this will be historic for the sport of Baseball. After ARod's execution the other suspensions should follow shortly afterwards. I doubt it will totally resolve the problem but hopefully it will make potential future PEDs users think twice, because MLB has set a precedent by busting players without having to rely on failed drug tests. Now all it takes is for a sleezeball like Bosch who peddles the PEDs, to cop a plea once he gets caught.

The problem with Arod is that he's so completely stupid he turned this not into only a PED case against him but clearly obstruction as well. If it was just PEDs they would have no leverage for a lifetime ban. There's no doubt they have evidence that he tried to purchase and destroy evidence. Hopefully he's smart enough and his lawyers advise him it's best to take the deal of the remainder of this year and all of next. By getting off the hook for this years money and next years money the Yankees should just assure him they will not stand in the way of him collecting the remaining $60 million on the contract.

...you're right, ARod is too stupid to take the deal from what I've read, but if anyone should take the deal and run, it's ARod.

...but as far as the other $60 mil he's he due, I wouldn't commit and assure him of anything. I'd tell him to start serving his suspension and we'll get back to you.

Sounds like he will refuse to take a deal and his lawyers are planning an appeal. So this means we will get to see Arod in pinstripes this year. I can't wait to hear how bad he will be boo'd at home and on the road.

What will ultimately I feel, work against Arod is the timing of all of theses scenarios. First, if MLB is able to establish their findings with facts that support their claim, regardless of the whistle blowers integrity, then Arod is fighting an uphill battle. Both legally and then in the court of public opinion. Now we know that Arod could give a rats ass about the law or peoples opinion, but in this case it will be his downfall. If what we are led to believe is true, that MLB has met and offered a deal, you would naturally assume that Arod's attorneys have complete knowledge and understanding of MLB case, and if any of the evidence was weak or not fact, you would see a totally different response from Arod. He got screwed when he couldn't get on the field which I felt would have led to his retirement due to injuries and hip surgeries which thus would protect a large portion of uncollected salary. Time is working against him, he played his hand and it is time for the river card!!!

...what the dumbass doesn't grasp is that yeah, if he's suspended the rest of this and next. he'll lose some money...but if MLB pursues a lifetime ban, he could lose it all. ARod just needs to fold his hand because his hole cards are weak and he's obviously not a very good poker player.

The Bluffs been called 59, by the Yankees, by MLB, by the Insurance Companies, and the fans, PAY UP FOOL!

Alex will be an idiot and fight the suspension no matter what evidence MLB has. He must have a really poor support team around him that give awful advice.

...either that, or he's truly as dumb as he's always shown to be.
