If CLE gets Love . . .

Let's just worry about getting out of the west first.

The T-wolves are trying to play hardball and demanding Wiggins in return. They're going to end up not making any trade and letting Love walk for nothing.

Would you give them Irving and change instead? Wiggins, lbj and Love would be a deadly trio IMO

Why? Minny has very little bargaining power. They risk losing Love for nothing. Here is the deal they should take and be happy to get it.

But they won't, they'll try to play hardball and end up fucking themselves.

I think Clev ends up giving Wiggins in the end.

Could be a huge mistake IMO. Then again, it depends what Cleveland wants to do. Adding Love, Irving and LBJ would be the sickest trio. Although, Irving and Love are extremely injury prone.

Would think Golden State's offer is better.

Minny doesn't have a lot of leverage, so that garbage offer is probably about as good as they can expect.

Does that make them the 2014 version of the Bulls that the Blazers could not get past? Does that increase the likelihood Blazers might consider trading LA next year and refocus the "window" to a point after James retires?

You can't "refocus your window" for something like 8-10 years in the future.

The Spurs are a bigger obstacle at the moment than the Cavs, even if they get Love. There's always going to be really tough teams to get through. All the Blazers can do is try to keep building the best team possible.

Doesn't make sense. They need to include Tristan Thompson.

Minnesota has leverage in that multiple teams want Love. It's not good enough to offer more than "the nothing you get if Love walks after next season"...you have to out-bid other teams that want him. Klay Thompson of the Warriors is a lot more valuable than that rumored Cleveland offer, and a Thompson/Love swap has been rumored as a possibility.

Would u do Wiggins, Thompson and filler for Aldridge

Wiggins is a SF of the future and Lebron the best SF who wants to win a title now. Give up Wiggins to have Lebron, Love and Irving. That is one hell of a big 3 and made to win now.

yes, but the Warriors are no longer offering Klay, which is why the Tpups are waiting for a team with cap space that comes up empty in free agency.

I think the promise of Wiggins is greater than the reality of Love. Wings develop faster than bigs anyway and Wiggins will have LBJ to learn from. In 2-3 years Cleveland could have two of the best players in the NBA.

Ya i kinda wanna see Bron and Wiggins together. Modern day MJ/Scottie potential

It will be interesting to see if vets will go to Clev to play with Lebron. Clev is not South Beach, but LeBron is still LeBron

Mike Miller comes to mind

I probably would, because I usually prefer to bet on upside. Winning a championship is so difficult, it takes winning some gambles. Wiggins brings not only huge upside but also low salary. It would also depend on the filler...as long as the filler wasn't garbage on long-term deals.

yes, but the Warriors are no longer offering Klay

That remains to be seen. Nothing has fundamentally changed, so it's not clear that the deal is off the table. Both teams may be waiting to see how things shake out. I think Minnesota will eventually get more than two disappointing top picks, but they may have to wait.

James will turn 30 in December. You think he is playing solid until he is 40?

My thought is that he has six more years at high level; a window similar to LAs. Dame will be peaked at that time, but LA will be heading down.

There are too many uncertainties to make big decisions about this, but if Cavs get Love (I would swap Wiggins for him, and I bet James would too) and play great (win title), and next years Blazers don't improve, I could see Olshey factoring this into his nuclear option.

As Lebron gets older and loses some athleticism he'll slide into the PF position. And he'll give a team more from that position than Love ever could.

Treaty made some sense. LeBron and Wiggins are a generation apart. That wasn't the case of Scottie and Michael. Wiggins mentally and maturity wise may not be ready to win at the level LBJ is ready to win at. Won't be the case with Love.

I think Olshey has to at least have a conversation with Cleveland. But Love probably has more value out there in GM's eyes and Minny will take a discount given the Love situation.

If Portland was going to make such a deal they would have did it before the draft. The only way they move on LA is if he demands it.
